Yeah, especially since this line is getting replaced by the SPL line, so I doubt they'll keep getting more for sales. Those were amazing deals especially in my instance when they forgot the wireless adapter and offered another $100 off instead of shipping a new one

Is this thing actually any good, compared to something like SVS?

I have a 2 12" SVS subs (sb12 nsd) currently.

I noticed this morning that frys.com had the Klipsch R-115sw for $549.99 and was available for shipping. The R115 is similar to the SVS PB-2000, with a little more output above 40Hz and a little less output below 30Hz than the PB-2000. For me personally, I would never buy the R115 as the subs from this line and the Jamo line using the same amps have lots of amp failures. The amps used for these subwoofers are just junk.

I was under the impression that they upgraded the amps on these. I was reading a few blogs where they claimed Klipsch was flooded with warranty repairs so they modified the amps. Just not sure what month or year they started it if that info was correct.

I do recall reading something on this, but am unsure how valid the info is and if Klipsch is just replacing dead amps with the newer ones or if new stock uses the updated amps. At any rate, I would avoid Klipsch subs, particularly if you are getting up into several hundred dollars subs. SVS has a full 5 year warranty on all their products and they are far more reliable and have the best customer service.

I have the same SVS Sb12-NSD, PB-12NSD, and Hsu VTF-3 mk 5. This is going to only a slight upgrade in improving output at the very low end. Probably not worth the trouble and it is MUCH bigger. Takes up a ton of space and looks huge in anything but a very big room.

I've got the ported one SVS PB12 NSD currently. Also interested to know how this compares.

I can confirm across 5 different recent Klipsch Subs that they have upgraded the plate amp.

They have the 12" for 229. I just picked up that one. As I already have another 12". I'll be using a 7.4.2 Atmos setup.
