Settings -> System -> Develeper Options -> Apps -> Background Check -> Amazon Widget -> toggle off. This should help. I hope.
I gave that a shot...going to give it a few hours to see if the notification comes back.

You mean uninstall, not disable? If so, how did you do that? I don't think you can uninstall Amazon crap, just disable them.
Some I could uninstall, others I just disabled, which is mostly the same thing. It doesn't bother me that way.

Loved mine when I got it but it's been dragging lately. 32GB isn't much when like 10GB is reserved for Android system stuff. There's no way that I know of to load apps on an SD card, so SD is only useful for files/photos and I can't figure out how to save photos directly to the SD, so I have to keep moving them, which is annoying.
I have a used non-Amazon one of these ($80 off ebay!) and you should be able to go to settings in the camera app [ 9 dot square, then the gear) and select SD Card for storage.

Nice! Can't believe I missed this! Now if I could just get the camera app to load in less than 90 seconds. It used to be super snappy, now I've had to resort to 3rd party apps because of its unbearably long load time Frown

LoL. Good luck with getting 64gb at that price with the quality of this phone. Remember, 64gb also brings 4gb of ram with it. Lowest I'd expect that is around $170.
Best Buy had the unlocked 64/4 gb android one version on for $150 in Feb. Best Buy had it listed as the 32/3 gb variety, but they were wrong. They have since fixed the listing.

Is this Android One version loaded with Amazon apps or is it Moto version loaded with Amazon apps?

I don't think the ads show on the lock screen anymore. So it's just a selection of preloaded Amazon apps. Can anyone confirm?
No Amazon ads, but there are restrictions. Comes with bloat- some can be uninstalled, some other's disabled. However it is still running the amz os line and the bootloader is locked. I will never get another Amazon phone for those reasons, but the price is not too bad.

Can I get this with my prime account for my girlfriend who does not have prime? Will it disable features or can I just disable all of the Amazon features like others have mentioned and have a decent phone?
