I've shucked 10+ of these 8TB drives over the years and all of them have always been WD Red or White labels. Couple 10TB drives I did were WD White drives.

Easy store is unique to BBY anyway so that wouldn't work.

Thanks OP. Bought one to shuck for my desktop. BTW if your computer doesn't recognize it after it's been shucked, there is a video I found on Youtube that should solve that problem. It is titled: How to Fix the 3.3V Pin Issue in White Label Disks Shucked from Western Digital 8TB Easystore Drives

This is listed under their "one day sale" so I imagine this one will only be around for 1 day. That said, this and the 10tb model regularly go on sale at least once a month, so if you're not ready then this will be back.

What drive is in this vs the 10TB that was recently on sale? I read that the 10TB is an HGST which last I knew were the most reliable drives on the market overall

Ugh, tempted to pick up some of these and return the 10TB's from a local Best Buy but one of them has a plastic piece rattling around inside right out of the box. The hard drive itself might be fine, but I don't want to risk getting boned if I end up having to RMA within 2 years. I can't even exchange it easily right now because it seems like all of the best buy's near me are completely out of stock of the 10tb.
