First and foremost, I believe this is my second or third post, so please feel free to comment on things I forgot to add.

Found this perusing Best Buy's website, thought it was a pretty decent deal. Yes, the screen is 60Hz, but panel upgrades on this model are actually quite easy (spudger tool to remove the bezel, unscrew/disconnect old panel, install new one). You can get a 15.6" 120Hz panel for ~$70 and this is a pretty formidable upgrade to other $1000 1060 6GB laptops for only ~$170 more, as you are getting a full 1070 mobile card rather than max-Q.

Further, you can return these in-store to a local Best Buy, so if you are worried about TIM application and do not know how to repaste, feel free to order two and return one with worse thermals.

Also, this does have the 99 WHr battery and not the 60 WHr one, so it will actually have respectable battery life for productivity work.

Here is the model number for all specs:
AW15R4-7620BLK-PUS

There is a another deal for 17inch at less than $1k plus 10% cash back from Dell clearance deal. That's super slick for a 1070 laptop for less than $900.
That was a good deal, to bad it's dead.

The warranty will be a major issue with Dell as well since they will not transfer the warranty to you without the previous owner doing it. You may very well get one with 3 months of warranty left.

However, it is a great deal if you get a good one.
They transferred mine on an R3 15" from last year. Got it for $840, though, so kind of hard to pass up.

Had to replace its poor stock pastejob with liquid metal, and have the speakers replaced through onsite repair, but has been running great ever since.

1080p screen @ 60hz has a 30 pin connector
1080p @ 144hz and 1440p @ 120 have a 40 pin connector
4k @ 60hz have a 50 pin connector

Do not know if the mobos in laptops come with multiple connectors for different screens

Mines was Brand new not open boxed. The GS65 stealth thin has heat and throttle issues.
you can't tell if its open box it looks new, the GS65 Stealth sells for $1800 they wanted $1100 for it I got the manager to knock off another $100 for good measure. as far as the throttle issues I don't know about, I put the fans on max cool and that keeps the machine under 70C on ultra settings playing Kingdom come deliverence at 50-60 frames per second from start to finish.

I ordered one of these from Best Buy and it arrived; the packing was atrocious. The Alienware box was actually protruding from the box it was shipped in, there was no bubble wrap or protective wrapping of any kind, including in the Alienware box itself. I could shake the box and hear the laptop and power supply sliding around and hitting itself in there. I did not think a $1000+ laptop would be shipped like this.

Rather than open it and find a cracked screen, I took it directly to the store in the box it came in and returned it. I think the people who ship the .com orders really don't care.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this when ordering open box excellent laptops from Best Buy.

It's really too bad too, that's a great deal to get into a 1070.
More likely the single person that shipped you .com order didn't care, as everything I've ordered from best buy has always arrived packaged well.

I bought a 17.3" MSI GE73 Raider RGB-672 for $1100 a couple months ago! It was on sale for $1300. I bought it and a few days later I call Costco Rep to ask a simple question regarding price match and the Rep accidentally gave me a price adjustment of another $200 off thinking that I purchased it at regular price of $1500. Came out to be $1100 after the price adjustment!
Great way to become a loyal customer!

I hope so. I gave Best Buy feedback and all the details do they can look into it. I'll try placing an order in store and have it shipped to store. Fingers crossed. Thanks!
