This is just bad advice, sorry. This 15 is a good deal for what it is, but it is not in another league to the pb2000.
This is simply not true.

https://hometheaterreview.com/kli...-reviewed/

That's a professional review by Brent Butterworth on the R-115SW.

he compares it to subs that cost more than the PB2000, from Hsu and PSA....and it does quite well against them.

Then one of the comments asks him how it stacks up to the PB2000 and he had this to say:

Quote from Brent Butterworth :
When I measured the PB-2000, I got CEA-2010 averaged results of 119.7/116.3 dB (40-63 and 20-31.5 Hz, respectively), compared with 123.2/114.6 for the Klipsch.

So the PB-2000 might have very slightly more deep-bass shake (although that's only +1.7 dB more, maybe not a readily audible difference at such low frequencies), while the Klipsch will probably have better punch and slam for explosions, kick drums, etc.

:
Not to mention a 5 year svs warranty vs. 1 for the Klipsch.
Also wrong.

https://www.klipsch.com/warranty-subwoofers

Quote from Klipsch sub warranty :
two (2) years on electronics and five (5) years on woofer, cabinet, and non-electrical mechanics

Look, at $900 MSRP for the R-115SWby all means, get the SVS for $799. (though honestly both are overpriced by todays standards)

But at $450 the R-115 is a no brainier...as the review and professional CEA-2010 measurements show- it's pretty comparable performance overall for a ton less $- and in a larger space 2 of them for only $100 more than list on a single PB2000 is even more of a no brainer.

(and I say that as someone who owns a PB2000, and is currently sitting about 2 feet from a lot larger and more expensive sub than either...)

It's actually 100 watts less and weighs about the same despite being a 15 vs a 12. That tells you all you need to know. Not to mention a 5 year svs warranty vs. 1 for the Klipsch. Also the pb2000 is front ported and is smaller.

Look, a good 15 is always going to beat out a good 12 but you're comparing an underpowered and unremarkable 15 to a very good 12

this was really in response to the first comment above
Bro, Don't jump in without knowing what my reponse was for. I was comparing this to the klipsh R-120SW, which is rear ported.

Well the issue IMO with specs and reviews is if it was that simple we wouldn't need to audition anything just look at specs and your done.
The thing that is unique with all this(listening) there is so many variables you have to take into consideration and everyone hearing things differently.
Reviews are great to read but everyone hears things differently and every situation if different so when you listen in your own, it will be different/change.
IMO specs may point that they are similar or close but it comes down to what type of sound you prefer.
They both will go pretty low and have impact so it comes down what sound you prefer. If you like a lot of volume in your sound then this would fit better for you than the PB2000. If you prefer more precise articulate sound then the PB2000 would be more your flavor.
IMO if I had $450 to spend I would get PB-12(on the next sale) and if I needed to two I would save and buy another later on.
In the long run that would be a no brainer IMO.
That's from hearing these two regularly but I get this is all subjective.

Seems that all the Fry's are sold out. The $449 + 20% off was the last/best price before replacing it with the newer SPL units.

Waited years for these to go clearance. Finally got 2.

First one was reservation on Monday pickup today. Had 20% off but didn't bother to ask sales so I Paid $449. Went back today to pick it up and was curious about the price and got the discount. Here is how it went:

Me: I am curious if 20% off apply to these?
Sales: Probably not, not on discount items (maybe) and not Klipsch. Let me check with the manager anyway.
Department Manager: Yea, ok on discount items. Okay on Klipsch. (Sweet!)
Big Manager: Here is today's 20% off coupon.
Sales: Let me work out some magic and get you the discount on both of them. (Slick!)

Me: My floor is shaking so much, might be a bad idea to have both in the game room upstairs! Peace

I've tried confirming this all kinds of ways on the speaker and my receiver. It just doesn't hit like I expect for something of this size. Maybe the internal amp is too small at 400 watts continuous?

Anyone else notice same thing?

I have bought several klipsch speakers at frys. In my experience, you have to get lucky and speak to the right person who is willing to honor at least 10% discount. You must get lucky to speak with someone who is willing to ask his/her manager to apply the 10 to 20% discount.

There are a lot of a-holes at my local frys in Az (2 locations) who are unhelpful, lazy and pushy.

I was lucky enough to get 20% off a 12SWi sub last month which I recently returned and replaced with a HSU VTF2- MK5. Night and day difference.

I hate going to those locations, I only go there when there is a sale I want to buy or just to troll around.

How are you running the HSU ? It was in contention for me but that shipping fee just killed it for me and was slightly larger.

The 12SWi isn't even in near the same class as the VTF2-MK5. Objectively and subjectively, the HSU you mentioned is a few leagues above the 12SWi, in just about every way.

The HSU's are great for sure (I own a couple), glad you're enjoying it!

With that said, the 115SW is one of the better Klipsch made sub...
