It's not a gaming laptop, it's an ultrabook that can be connected to a EGPU.

No, it's a thin and light/ultrabook with the ability to game using an external GPU.

So like any other ultrabook with a thunderbolt port. At $1200 seems like a poor buy.

Grabbed the open box one before it sold out. I've owned an older model and I currently own the 15.6" gaming laptop they offer. The build quality is fantastic. You're paying for that plus good specs: 8th gen i7 8550u, 16GB of LPDDR RAM and a 512GB m.2 Samsung SSD (replaceable). Also the display is QHD. Excellent laptop for $900 OOB but at $1200 you may want to wait 1-3 months for the next model to release, which will drop the price on the current model, which has been redesigned and starts at $1399 now.

Depends how you look at. Specs wise, its a very solid ultrabook as-is. Throw in $500 for a 1070gtx egpu and you have a formidable gaming machine with a video card you can upgrade in the future.

Wish they updated the design with slim bezels at least.

Very tempting especially at the open box price. I actually think these look slightly sleeker than the newer ones due to the "boxiness" of the new design. The newer one has an advantage of slim bezels of course.

This is also a great resolution at this size. Not basic 1080p, but not overkill 4k either.

Got open box satisfactory .... for $700 out the door... but concern is that it ended up being the display model. It's in excellent shape, but not sure if being the display model would be an issue....

My biggest issue with this laptop. Can use egpu with a lot of other ultrabooks if that's your thing so you gotta ignore that aspect of it.

Is open-box still covered by warranty, either from manufacturer or BB?
