This set includes the Unifying receiver.
For Logitech keyboards and mice, we should make that required info for any SD posts.
The ones that use the Unifying system are much better IMHO.

what is a unifying receiver? is it a single USB dongle to the keyboard and mouse? don't all keyboard/mice combos come with a single USB dongle?

Yes you are right. You can't use keyboard and mouse on two separate devices simultaneously. It has to be together but you don't need to use them at the same time. My use case is use both at home with the docking station but only the mouse on the road.

Logitech has a universal receiver that works with multiple devices. You can take other Logitech devices and sync them to the same receiver as well.

Not all Logitech devices support it though from what I can tell, usually gaming mice in my experience.

Can you switch this between devices? Looking for a wireless option where I can switch my PC to my Macbook (HTPC) fairly simply without having two buy two different keyboards.

Seems with this unifiying adapter it's not possible?

You have a few options. Logitech software can take care of that for you. The feature is called "Flow" check this page for specific products that support it. https://www.logitech.com/en-us/pr...ce-control

Another solution is an app called Synergy, which works quite well.

Both of the above act as if multiple computers are "one" and the mouse and keyboard follow whichever computer you're on by moving edge to edge.

If you want to manually switch between multiple computers, the Logitech K380 and MX (master/anywhere) 2S are great bluetooth options.

Yes it does (according to the Q and A section on Best Buy product page). It's built into scroll wheel.

You really gotta press to get it to click. It's there but not easy to use.

Have you tried software solutions? I switch between multiple computers using Synergy, and can tell you it works great for that. I have used it on PC, Mac, Linux, and even in VMs. https://symless.com/synergy
or https://sourceforge.net/projects/...le-builds/
