Haha...let's not blow it out of proportion. It was meant as a tongue-in-cheek comment and nothing else.

If this phone is anything like the Moto G5 Plus, then stay away from this phone if you care about taking photos. Not only is the image quality poor, I had to send in my phone twice for the exact same reason which was the camera was not loading and I would receive error messages intermittently. This was especially frustrating when using the camera app with 3rd party programs like banking apps, since it didn't give you any error messages and instead the app would just start glitching out.
seriously, what do you expect for $140 phone? go get a google pixel if you want better photos

For your sake, do not buy this phone. I'm an IT and have dealt with hundreds of phones now. Though the Moto G5S Plus is a great phone, it has a constant weak connection to 4G LTE. I've rooted, I've boosted, tried everything and it would not go past half bar. This was with 4 different Moto G5S Plus phones and on three different networks (T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon) in Orange County, CA.

As much as I love Lenovo laptops, they make terrible mobile phones (Lenovo owns Motorola). I was fortunate enough to re-lock the bootloaders and return them in time for a full refund. nod

Moto Lenovo makes crappy cripple crotch phones. They're overpriced as well. This deal shouldn't be over $100 with the mint svc.
why don't you recommend a better phone for similar price then? put some substance behind your claim.

My original G5/64GB/4ram has been good for the past 2 years, other than the camera randomly turning off from time to time. I hear a lot of horror stories about this one, it always made me wonder about this version. I kind of want to pick this up for a gift, but kind of afraid.
My bro bought the same exact phone as you in Aug 2017 G5/64GB/4GB and it's been fine for him, no complaints whatsoever, using it on T-Mobile.

Thanks for the information, as I am currently in the market for a Mint Mobile compatible phone and also live in Orange County; so this is all too relevant.

Do you by any chance have any recommendations for a phone around this price point?

I've been a die hard ZTE and Huawei fan, and switched over to the Z2 Force. For under $150, I have zero complaints. Customer service has been outstanding with ZTE and Huawei phones work. Why is this phone any different than the Z2 Force?

The g6 64/4 on Amazon has been dropping to 160 quite a bit in the last month, isn't it a better phone?

After the ZTE update issue on my ZTE Blade V8 Pro, I vowed to boycott ZTE forever, stuck on Marshmallow and no updates or support. Currently have a Moto X4 and couldn't be happier.

8GB for 3 months or 8GB per month. Update looks like it's per month and this seems like a really good deal and after the 3 months I can lock in at $20 a month for a year? What towers do the run on. Anyone have luck with mint mobile. Also If i wanted to go with their 12GB plan for $25 a month for a year do i have to get a new sim card from them? How do they compare to Republic Wireless that I have had for years now.
Mint runs on the native T-Mobile network. You can get the $15, $20, or $25 a month rate (with 3, 8, or 12GB data per month) by prepaying for the year. I don't believe you have to get a new SIM card to change plans. I think you do need to get a new SIM card and plan if you want to change (or port-in) a number after the initial signup. This is why their trial kit (NOT the one that comes with this deal) comes with two SIM cards. So far I've been impressed with Mint. They support VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, and tethering. The couple places I've speed tested it came in around 70mbps down.
Lucky you! I live in NJ and T-Mobile-based Mint service is terrible on my Essential phone on the Raritan Valley train line and in Jersey City. That's why I can't take advantage of the 8GB data per month.

MOTO G5 is a good entry-level smartphone for those who has less requirements to cellulars, Qualcomm 625 is fluent enough for browsing the web, making vedio calls with families and friends.
