I have two of these. I use one for the outside and one for the inside of the house. The outside one has always given me problem with missing data/ clips filmed. The one inside has recently been giving me the same issues. I reportrd the problem to the company and I have heard nothing from them for the past 6 months. Great app, but the camera is going to malfunction eventually.

Bought two of these awhile ago. They are exactly what you would expect for cheap Chinese garbage. Works OK for a few months. Very unreliable at keeping the microSD card appropriately mounted (I had no footage from one camera when I got robbed). Doesn't connect frequently. Needs constant reboots. Motor is unreliable.

If you are using this as a baby monitor, or something else like that where you can fiddle with it to get it working and point it in one spot, GREAT! If you want it to work as a security camera that auto-pans and keeps video for you, it's just not reliable enough.

The wyze pan also gives your 12 sec of cloud storage every 5 min after motion trigger. Do you just have to rely on the SD card once it triggers motion?

I have some issues with Wyze Pan where it isn't sending me alerts when in pan scan mode. It follows the subject but doesn't send alerts. But in detection mode(stationary) it doesn't auto pan to follow subjects. If the Yi can follow and send alerts, I'm down.
You can get cloud storage. I don't subscribe but I do see I'm still able to see like 5-10 second clips anyways.

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.
code worked for me. make sure you don't copy too much and it'll add a space some times.

The top critical review on the Amazon says it all:

https://www.amazon.com/YI-Wireles...ll_reviews

"Our cameras were hacked twice, these cameras put your privacy at risk."

"These cameras are indeed very hackable. After changing passwords and adding a pin number to the cameras we had another incident tonight with someone watching our daughter as she was going to sleep. My daughter was calling for Mommy or daddy and my wifes curiosity was sparked, she logged into the cameras and was able to clearly hear talking and munching/crunching of potato chips of whoever was viewing our cams. It's disgustingly creepy and be warned I am removing these cameras from our walls. The manufacturer of these cameras has failed to safeguard your privacy."
This is interesting because in my experience, you cannot hear talking. I just did a test and the voice does not come through when talking through the camera on another device...

I won't buy a Yi product. They do not support third party camera apps so you're locked into theirs. I use Tinycam Pro on Android. Support for it is a must.

When I first saw this on FP, I couldn't believe this was FP, but then I saw that the OP was an SD employee, and it all made sense to me why such a crappy deal was on FP.

The equivalent wyze cam pan is roughly the same price as the OP.
