"Our cameras were hacked twice, these cameras put your privacy at risk."

"These cameras are indeed very hackable. After changing passwords and adding a pin number to the cameras we had another incident tonight with someone watching our daughter as she was going to sleep. My daughter was calling for Mommy or daddy and my wifes curiosity was sparked, she logged into the cameras and was able to clearly hear talking and munching/crunching of potato chips of whoever was viewing our cams. It's disgustingly creepy and be warned I am removing these cameras from our walls. The manufacturer of these cameras has failed to safeguard your privacy."

I've got two of these and use one for a baby monitor. Works great if you have strong WiFi signal. Only single band as well which is unfortunate (2.4ghz). Overall I'm happy with the app it uses. Had crying detection and a few settings for motion to ensure you're not alerted too much if you do choose. Easy setup as well. I liked the first one I bought so much I bought a second. I've only gotten a Max of about 180 kbps streaming on HD which is ok for a phone but I'd prefer a bit higher quality. The night vision is great for this camera as well. I don't have the cloud service, I installed an SD card for playback purposes. Overall, for under 40 bucks you can't go wrong!

When you go to tap the camera to view the live feed from the app, does it take a while for it to load? Sometimes it can take from 10-30+ seconds and it just says loading, 5%, 25%, loading and back and forth.

Been thinking of switch to wyze cam and ditching yi.

Looks like these have severe security issues. There are many instances on there of people having their babies screamed at and frightened by hackers.

When it did it was because my WiFi signal wasn't as strong as I thought it was... Or the wifi antenna sucks in the cameras. I put a repeater right outside the room is in and out does pretty good now. Make sure you're on the latest firmware as well.

I feel most of the time it's incompetence by people with their passwords. The exact same thing happened with nest cameras. The one thing these do not have however is two factor authentication which I wish it had to make it a bit more secure. It has this device binding concept but I'm not sure it really works.

Edit: device binding was in this other app I have not for you, sorry I confused the two

I would not buy any type of Yi or Xiaomi cameras. Way too many security problems with them.

The wyze pan also gives your 12 sec of cloud storage every 5 min after motion trigger. Do you just have to rely on the SD card once it triggers motion?

I have some issues with Wyze Pan where it isn't sending me alerts when in pan scan mode. It follows the subject but doesn't send alerts. But in detection mode(stationary) it doesn't auto pan to follow subjects. If the Yi can follow and send alerts, I'm down.
