I signed up for 100/100 deal last week and saw this today. I contacted Verizon via chat and in a minute the rep updated my plan (sent me an email with updated plan cart and I accepted). Not sure how long you're on 100/100 but worth giving it a shot.

Any tips on how you did that and what you said?

I signed up for 100/100 two weeks ago and the couple of times of have spoke with a rep via chat, they have told me that 200/200 promo price is only for new customers.

I signed up in early February and got my card last week. I chatted in-app 4 weeks ago and they confirmed it was coming.

I told the rep that I signed up for Fios last week 100/100 for $39.99. And I just noticed that now I can get 200/200 for same price of $39.99 if I sign up now. Rep asked me for my account number and then she sent me an email with new plan changes. All in all it took less than 5 minutes.

FYI, To get 100/100 for $39.99, I had to close my old account and sign up for a new one. Not sure if you're a net new customer but may be that's the reason why they are denying your request.

Yes, to get 100/100 for $39.99, I had to close my old account and sign up for a new one as well. You are a "new" customer as well so if you were approved, I should be able to as well. It all depends on the rep you get and how helpful they want to be.

Just to verify, did you have to close your 100/100 account to get the 200/200 or did the rep. just update your 100/100 account?

If you have more than one adult in your household, you can close your old account and open a new account in that person's name. If you're still under contract, they'll only let you cancel if you're moving to a new address which either a) already has FIOS and is under contract, or b) isn't in a FIOS area (and they'll ask for your address to confirm and to send the final bill to). Of course I'm not encouraging fraudulently telling Verizon that you're moving somewhere that you're not. Whether or not that's ethical is up to you.

No, I didn't have to close the 100/100 account. The rep simply upgraded my speed. This is what she sent me in the email to review and accept:

I must say I was surprised with my success. Usually this involves multiple chat/calls with no luck. I guess I got lucky. However I was ready to terminate my 7 day old account if I was denied of 200/200 and start the process again with new order. This did save me some time and effort.

Not sure if this is same but just for trying out, after closing account that was under my name, I opened up a new account under same address, name, SSN except i used/created different UserID. And it worked. I didn't have to use a different household member. Everything done online, of course. YMMV

Thanks for that. I see you will loose your $15 discount in a year but you can sign up for whatever promo is out when that time comes so no biggie.
