Some one help me. I need a hub to connect this light " link to buy" . I have alexa echo . Thanks
Of the Amazon devices, only the Echo plus and Echo Show (2nd generation) have the built in Zigbee hub, which is compatable with this light bulb.

Regular price $129.99, huh, who do they think they're kidding?

I'd still say it's a pretty good price if you're in the market and aren't alreadyin heavy to one of the other brand of smart lights.

Me personally, between tp link, hue and lifx i can't deal with adding yet another brand to the mix with yet another app, I'll pass this time. That's my two cents at least.
Good point, I have so many of these smart apps on my phone.

Be careful if you have the lightify kit, this "osram" bulbs have different firmware and different color for same scene/setting. Upgrading firmware is a pain (i ended up using smarthings hub), and still different color. Bought those from amazon last time.

Can you do a light show with this? Like color changing every few seconds or strobe ?

I have these lights. They don't do purple. Pinkish white is what you'll get if you ask it to do purple or dark purple.

That's not a hub, despite the name.
If you buy a hub, can they be voice controlled by Google Home? I have some minis setup, and have read through the thread, but still not sure if I can get the two to play nice. I'd like to be able to tell my Google mini to turn on the lights and what color to set, without using a separate app to control.
