Be aware that most of these wireless chargers dont like bulky phone cases especially otter box and if u have magnet plates on your phone that could also prevent it from not charging..

As long as LG G8 supports Qi wireless charging protocol

So this 10 watt wireless charger charges slower than a 10 watt wired charger right?
Yes, wireless charging is NOT as efficient as wired charging

Almost all the wireless charger does not come with a plug, unless it says it has one with it especially

Correct. Wireless is very inefficient.

I bought this last time and it's inconsistent when charging. Also, the surface is not flat so your phone will slide off which will cause your phone not to charge. If your phone is on vibrate it will slide off too. This product is a waste of time.

It's Aukey. It's a well known charger brand. Fakespot is not needed here.
Being well known doesn't exempt it from review manipulation. I rely on reviews heavily for power related products so I don't get burned buying a charger or battery that has adverse effects on my expensive devices. Well known companies make duds too, hiding honest reviewers with glowing praise is dishonest to say the least.

I worked as a wireless power engineer for five years. There are large technical challenges to make this happen for phone form factors. The biggest are:

1. Inductive power spikes -- Often there is poor coupling between the transmitter and phone. The transmitter burns extra power to maintain expected power delivery at the phone. Nudge the phone towards the center of the transmitter and all this extra power needs to be burned by the receiver since the transmitter control loop is slow. These receivers are small and struggle to absorb so much power.

2. Foreign Object Detection (FOD) -- As an example, put a quarter between the phone and charger. Take a cheap TX (often made by OEMs in China), and that quarter gets blazing hot since their FOD is poor. That is a safety risk.

3. Coil Resistance -- The coils have surprisingly high resistances. This heats the phone back and stresses the packaging/screen.

There was also limited demand from phone manufacturers for high power wireless charging. In fact wireless charging has relatively low user adoption despite Samsung having it in their phone for years.
Apple just getting on board starting with the 8 and X models a couple years ago didn't help the adoption rate either

Most phones get pretty warm while wirelessly charging too, so there's no way I'd want to use a bulky case if I was planning on wirelessly charging my phone a lot

fakespot is written by some no name self proclaimed "CEO", that 20 seconds into my research on fakespot i realized that there's no way i could trust some blackboxed algorithm he has for detecting fake reviews. has anyone ever found a highly reviewed product with a high fakespot rating? it looks like everything out there gets a C or a D. i don't know why everyone on slickdeals is so obsessed with it. if you know what products are out there, and you understand what you're buying, who cares if there's a bunch of fake reviews? it only takes one or two valid reviews to highlight the real flaws or features of a product
Amazon used to be a great place to go to for reviewers from early adopters, now it's star rating is manipulated like yelp reviews. Owners praising their own product, competitors trying to trash it. Unless the fakespot creator is monetizing his site by extorting money from product makers for better scores, then it's a useful tool in weeding out bad products/companies

This inexpensive product has been on Amazon since Dec 2018, did 299 people take the time to REALLY review this? This is the kind of thing you buy, it works, life goes on. This isn't some feature laden product like a TV or phone.

The problem is that most people don't know what they're buying. Even experienced buyers who understand specs want to know firsthand from actual users, and we don't want to sift through shill reviews to find the legit ones. I'm not saying fakespot's algorithm is infallible, but you just dismiss it with absolute certainty.

I threw mine in the trash. The iPhone X would wobble on the base, sometimes charging, sometimes kinda charging, sometimes not. I prefer stands where it just works.
