You dont seem to understand the difference between wired and wireless charging. In case you were unaware, it is common knowledge that wired charging is faster than wireless. More energy can be passed through copper wire than through electromagnetic induction.

The Pixel 3 power block is 18W for a wired USB Type-C connection. When it comes to wireless, 10W is considered fast and 5W is normal. Only 2 devices (Google Stand & Belkin Boost Up) are certified by Google to provided 10W fast wireless. All other wireless devices will charge the Pixel 3 at 5W.

I worked as a wireless power engineer for five years. There are large technical challenges to make this happen for phone form factors. The biggest are:

1. Inductive power spikes -- Often there is poor coupling between the transmitter and phone. The transmitter burns extra power to maintain expected power delivery at the phone. Nudge the phone towards the center of the transmitter and all this extra power needs to be burned by the receiver since the transmitter control loop is slow. These receivers are small and struggle to absorb so much power.

2. Foreign Object Detection (FOD) -- As an example, put a quarter between the phone and charger. Take a cheap TX (often made by OEMs in China), and that quarter gets blazing hot since their FOD is poor. That is a safety risk.

3. Coil Resistance -- The coils have surprisingly high resistances. This heats the phone back and stresses the packaging/screen.

There was also limited demand from phone manufacturers for high power wireless charging. In fact wireless charging has relatively low user adoption despite Samsung having it in their phone for years.

I bought this last time around. Works ok on my S9 and S10, my S7 only likes it if I take it out of my case (which is chunkier). The platform is a little small but for the price it's hard to complain. Make note there is no power supply (just a cable) but I think most of us have a hundred lying around by now.

It is called "Fast Wireless Charging" and not simply "Fast Charging" for a reason.

Does this work on the note 9? I didn't see anything in the description about it but maybe someone here has tried.
