Be sure the spacing between your deadbolt and knob matches the specs for this handleset. If you have a newer house, and the holes in your door came pre drilled, you have a good chance of this style of handleset working - but that spacing is critical.

Awesome deal for a handleset from a name brand manufacturer. Smart Key is an really nice feature with some security issues, but most residential doors are one good kick away from entry anyway.

or just a few foots away from a window which is always the weakest point of the whole entry.

FYI this is a Kwikset lock, and it's a Grade 2 (good not great) like most of their other offerings. Weiser is just their Canadian branding.

I am trying to understand how this looks on the inside. There would be a door handle to open and close but how does the lock look from the inside? Is there a thumb piece inside? It does not show in the figures of the product.

Any way I can "rekey" to make this work with my existing key?

As long as your existing lock uses a Kwikset keyway, it should be easy. I'm not sure if Schlage keys will fit in a Kwikset keyway.

Based on this installation sheet, it appears that the spacing between the dead bolt hole and knob hole should be 5 1/2" on center.

http://www.weiserlock.com/PDFs/in...ets_BP.pdf

I can't swear to it, because I couldn't find the installation sheet for the particular lockset listed here, but I'm guessing 5.5" is the industry standard. At least that's what I keep telling my wife. Big Grin
