The screen is one place cost decisions are made and have always been a weakness with the 'bargain' and 'gaming' laptop.
Even professional reviewers bemoaned the attached displays.
I plug a similar Dell config (in the fact it has a 1060MaxQ into an external monitor- screen comes alive.

For the sum of its parts it is an awesome deal. Last weekend I made a swamp cooler laptop chiller our of old fans and a slate board as it does kick in under load.

*strangely enough I am seeing this in the config -NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060Ti 6GB, which may actually make it stronger than a vanilla 1060. Or the Walmart page has been written up incorrectly.

Pretty sure that's a typo. I don't believe there's a 1060 ti model in existence.

It's a typo....Walmart is extremely bad at things like this.

60hz display makes this a "hell no". maybe if it was a 1050 or 1050ti it'd make sense.

people like to comment about how you can just swap out the display, but thats an extra $100 and a lot of time and effort for people who've never done it before(hint: that's a lot of people). a lot of risk as well.

it's 2019, don't bother gaming on anything less than 100hz unless you're buying for an entry-level gamer.
I'd have to disagree on the screen swap. It's so easy and takes about 8 minutes.....if you don't wanna do it then say that, but the majority of people would find it stupid simple, regardless of tech savvyness. Just gotta watch a video on YT, same way you would for changing car oil, etc haha

One thing to point out: the screen can be replaced/updated. Thunderbolt can't be added later on a laptop without it.

I just wanted to confirm that the bezel on this model is very noticeable. I bought two for work and if not using external display you will slowly start to hate this flaw.

Either i7 or 144Hz monitor would make it slick. But neither? Pass.
If you live neat a Microcenter, they have the MSI gv62 8re-061 which has a 120hz refresh rate
