Best Buy seems to be having a 4 Day sale. Decent price on the Chromebook. They do have some cheaper OPEN BOX deals on other Chromebooks if you look. For example, the Pixelbook is like $550.

I've been debating to get the Pixelbook or this, not sure what is better in the end

I have exactly both. And while I do enjoy both the x2 and miix 700, and each has its own perks, below are the winning points for the x2 OVER miix 700:

1) battery life, the x2 lasts me easily 10hrs+, I have yet to see any similarly spec'ed windows 2-in-1/tablet lasting this long
2) usb-c, with pd and alt dp mode to boot
3) actual, solid, sturdy lappable experience, something I have learned to appreciate after using the kickstand contraption of the miix/surface type laptops. In fact getting a brydge keyboard to use with my miix as we speak to improve the typing/lappable experience, so yes there are ways to improve it, but at a cost (an extra $150 value, whereas the x2 currently ALREADY INCLUDES a great keyboard)
4) Even with the similar/better hardware of the miix, the snappiness of chrome os vs windows is outlandish, and strongly favors the x2's configuration.
5) People say chrome os is limited in functionality, I say quite the opposite, with official support for android apps and linux apps, especially android, I have found myself with more app selection to achieve consumer grade purposes than winows by FAR, many of which free or 10x cheaper compared to similar solutions on windows. Professional grade software solutions not-withstanding, of course.
6) Security. I simply don't have to worry nearly as much about this aspect on chrome os.
7) The screen's clarity and quality does play in favor for the x2 over miix.
8) Actually gameable on x2, at least for android selections, vs miix 700? Don't even bother trying running windows games, nor can you even attempt egpu, no tb3. (And don't say just spend the moola to get a tb3 2in1 or tablet, at that price point you're at 4-6x the $400 price point of this x2). I know, apples to orange when you compare android gaming to windows gaming, but my point is, one can fortnite, the other can not, period.
9) X2 is new with warranty. Miix is used/refurb. Any attempt at a new tablet 2in1 windows solution at 400 price point? Surface go is the ONLY one you will find. And that's STILL slow compared to the x2 in a daily experience.

With all that said, yes my miix700 definitely still has its benefits over the x2, such as the aforementioned pro-grade software solutions (certain windows IDE suites, music producing software for lightweight on-the-road mobile studio, serato dj, etc.) But ultimately I'd have to hand it to the x2 for bang for buck + user experience at $400 new w/ warranty vs $500 used/refurbed, subjectively speaking from all above points.

Very good price. I got mine as an open box for 380 (roughly) about 5 months ago. The only downsides are limited storage and RAM.

Grab the pixelbook, you won't be disappointed. Look at both in store if you can but you'll like the PB more I'm just letting you know. Both have the same screen tho!

Trust me... I looked at the open box listing at $550! But I need a second chromebook like I need a hole in my skull. If I could just unload the X2 for $300, i would be tempted. But with these kinds of sales going on, they are knocking down my resale value!

You should wait for pixelbook 2. I have the samsung chromebook plus and really love it too.
I will buy the pixelbook if they clear them out at a price i cant resist.

For the pixelbook 2 upgrade, google should keep laptop the same and just expand the screen to 13" with little to no bezel.

Eh, look at selling locally. I do it all the time and tend to make money not lose it. The open boxes in store are the best kept secret. The website would say one thing but in store it will always be less, substantially so, especially the day after a sale goes live. Keep looking man!

Thanks, I did grab the Pixelbook a few days ago at that price. I saw the X2 today so I posted the deal and was tempted to get that. The X2 is $350 used.

Think ima stick with the 14" model i bought last week for 300 open box. Its heavier but it has a bigger screen, 8th gen i3 vs core m, 8gb vs 4gb, and 64gb storage vs 32.

Imo, if you do use it as a tablet sometimes, then the 12" version is the best.

I bought this from BestBuy the last time it went on sale at $399. I love it. I've not experienced any speed, lag, or battery life issues. My only complaint would be the storage space, though I've not had an issue with that yet and bought a 128gb micro sd for it. Its so nice to have a machine that powers on instantly, keeps battery life for a long time, and just works. The screen looks great and the touch and pen features work well, though I've not done much with the pen. I'm still impressed that it comes with a pen at that price. I bought a usb-c adapter/port replicator and am pushing video to two add'l displays without issue. No lag or speed issues while doing so.

I bought one of these some time ago, Best Buy Open Box-Excellent. It was like new. Love this device, it's my favorite 2-in-1 detachable. This is a really, really well designed and high quality Chromebook. Wish it had 64gb storage and 8gb ram but truthfully the performance has been fine as-is. Solid battery life, screen is gorgeous, no complaints at all.

Hmmm, now I'm second guessing myself....maybe I buy both and return one. I've played around with the Pixelbook and love it. I currently have the ASUS C100P and enjoy it, but it has some issues. I like having the keyboard, so not sure how often I would go in tablet mode....but seems nice.

Honest question: why pay so much for a Chromebook? I have a 14" Acer Chromebook that works great that I only paid $200 for... I guess I just don't see how much better a Chromebook can get with how limiting Chrome OS seems to be.
