Got a couple of these for $5 when I'd get my $10 Eddie Bauer rewards and they had them on sale at the outlet store.

They don't really hold their shape and are kind of floppy once opened and they're not the most durable fabric. But they're handy to throw in the trunk of the car or to take on a trip in case you need to pick up souvenirs or something. They pack up to maybe the size of a 5" square.

In my experience, they've always shipped everything within 48hrs.

This is not really a deal. These packable bags are "half off" most of the year. It's more uncommon for them to be a higher price. I own a 30l. They are great emergency bags, i.e. take it with you on vacation incase you buy too many suvioners, but too flimsy and thin to rely on for daily use. Can't beat the EB warranty though.

I have this bag. I swapped my Klymit 20L trail running bag out for this EB bag. Overall it's pretty good. It doesn't have shoulder strap pouches to keep your cell phone, calories, etc., but I bought a Gossamer Gear shoulder strap pocket to solve that problem ($18). Nor does it have a hydration bladder hanger / loop on the inside inside, but I buy two 1L smartwater bottles from the grocery store and stash them in the mesh side pockets instead. The smartwater bottles are reusable, durable and are much lighter than a Platypus hydration bladder + hose. The only trade-off is not having a hose, but I normally don't need a hose to drink unless I'm in a hurry such as a trail running race. I put carabiners on the outside loops to hang jackets or sandals. One nice feature is you can invert the whole bag into one of its smaller zipper pockets and (low-and-behold) it's contained for easy storage. Overall 8/10.

You are correct, these items are frequently "half off" most of the year, but the kicker is the free shipping on all orders. That's offered much less frequently.

I have the 20L & 30L. As mentioned above they don't have much structure since they need to be flimsy to pack into itself. They're good for travel for daypacks/festivals since they're light and packable.

The material isn't the most durable, and I previously had a packable duffel of the same material that developed a hole in it after a couple light uses - leading to the most horrible customer service experience with Eddie Bauer.
They told me to send the bag under warranty for replacement, only to be told they wouldn't replace the item since the exact same model didn't exist (even though other packable duffels exist). Without asking, they had destroyed my bag and sent me a gift cert for less than half the cost I paid which couldn't buy anything. It took 5-6 calls to customer service just to get the right amount refunded which wasn't even what I wanted in the first place when I asked for a replacement. It's unbelievable how disorganized and incompetent the EB customer care department is, I would avoid buying from them if you have any expectation of dealing with customer service.

I like it cause it can compress so small. It's also good for allegiant flights (compliant with their super small sizing, though they don't seem too strict)

Code works on the 30L too - down to $20.

I've got both the 20L and 30L bags. I like 'em and would recommend.. for occasional use, at least. Not for everyday use.
