Pretty sure Unbox Therapy or The Tech Chap did a video on this monitor for gaming if you're interested in a watch. Looked pretty good from what I remember.

That is GLORIOUS! I would need two of them stacked for my needs, making it much too expensive. Will have to stick to my regular $500 LG 43" 4K flat monitor, until these hopefully come down to $500...
The whole point of these is to NOT have a lot of vertical space which can cause eyestrain.
If that does not bother you, then yes a 4k monitor is much more economical.

Personally, I went from a 39" 4k monitor that I HATED, to a 38" widescreen that I love love love love

In the same boat. I know someone with the 38" and it's amazing but this might actually be too large.. I almost bought the refurb a few weeks ago this is a good price IMO.

Go with the 38". I have it and it is amazing. It's perfect for three windows and not being huge. Especially when I have to talk to people across my desk. I feel like 38" is perfect for max size vs. not having to "look" around a lot.

I am using U3818DW at my office and it's super productive. I would like to switch to this one even though it means 10% loss of vertical pixels.
