Daily Steal has the Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers (Graphite) for $24.99 with DSKINDLEcode.

Kindle uses an electronic ink screen that looks and reads like real paper. The matte screen reflects light like ordinary paper and uses no backlighting, so you can read as easily in bright sunlight as in your living room. Unlike tablet screens, Kindle has no glare.

Code:DSKINDLE
Warranty: 90 Day Warranty
This product is Manufacturer Refurbished

Ouch... And that's not upgradeable right? Like the nook which takes an SD card?
That is correct, no SD/microSD card slot for expandable memory. With this memory it is estimated that you can store 1,400 books.

"Includes special offers" means includes advertisements. You will be seeing non-removable advertisements even when this tablet is idle.

"This product is Manufacturer Refurbished" Refurb should really be in the title

Amazon will give $15 for these as a trade in plus 25% off select Kindles. Not the newest one that came out a few weeks ago.

You are talking about 2 completely different audiences. I personally use a PW, but it's also 5x this price. I mean, there is still a place in the market for cheap eReaders.
Additionally, the model in this deal is very pocketable. I used to read until the very end when people were filling out of a flight and then stuff it into my pocket. Since then, I've upgraded twice but this is a missing feature.

I bought a used one of these off eBay a couple months ago and love it. Wanted the physical buttons for page turning. Still on the original charge after three books.

I traded this model for the newer one. I actually liked this model more in many ways.

How would that be better?
That's like saying why do they make paper plates. Obviously throwing something away is more convenient than having to take action to get it back to usable order.

Also, the screen is much clearer here. PW and oasis both have a touch overlay sensor film which lowers the contrast.
Well that is absolutely not true in any way. Anyone who actually believes this has no knowledge of how capacitive touch screens work.

Not to mention, this thing has 600 x 800 with pixel resolution at 167 ppi. The paperwhite is 1440x1080 with pixel resolution of 300 ppi. No amount of imaginary 'touch overlay' is going to make that much difference.

I mean, that's enough for like a thousand books.
