Daily Steal has the Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers (Graphite) for $24.99 with DSKINDLEcode.

Kindle uses an electronic ink screen that looks and reads like real paper. The matte screen reflects light like ordinary paper and uses no backlighting, so you can read as easily in bright sunlight as in your living room. Unlike tablet screens, Kindle has no glare.

You are talking about 2 completely different audiences. I personally use a PW, but it's also 5x this price. I mean, there is still a place in the market for cheap eReaders.

i miss the old mechanical page turn buttons that this kindle has. Those alone make this worth $25

Very old model, and low end. Put the money toward the most popular model: Kindle Paperwhite, which has a backlight now

Hey don't knock these old Kindles. I bought a Kindle Touch off eBay a few years ago and that one was released in 2007! I recently updated it with an OEM kindle case with the led light when it was finally available on eBay for a reasonable price. My total price for all of this was $40. And this is for the ad free version. Battery still lasts weeks.

At this price you can have a disposable ereader. Use it a few weeks and just throw it away once the battery dies.
How would that be better?

This got remarkably more popular in the last hour.

Buyer beware, unusual voting patterns.

I had one of these and I traded it in in order to get the new kindle with touch. Weirdly, the old ones had a better build quality in my opinion and were slightly narrower.
