Anyone think these monitors, namely the RL2755, will drop below this price point within the next year?

Anyone know if i can do a direct swap on a 2050 to a 2550? Projector is ceiling mounted and is the furthest back I can mount it. I noticed the the throw was different and dont know if ill be able to remain at the same size screen. Tried the calculators but they were a bit confusing.
Nope. Different throw range. You'll need to move the 2550 back to get the same size screen.

The new 3550 can go in the same spot as the 2050. Might want to hold off one more year and wait for the 3550 to go refurb. Also gives them the time to work out all the bugs which seems like there are a few.

Lowest ever I've seen for HT2550 and TK800, I've been itching to upgrade to 4k from my HT2050, but after seeing the HT3550 come out, I just have to wait, it seems they improved a ton on the HT2550 and this 3550 seems like the W1070 of 4k projectors now, a quantum leap for a great price....which in usual Benq fashion that $1499 starting price will be about $1000-$1200 in a few months and this time next year these will be under a grand, then it will be time to buy!

While 4k resolution is great (even through 1080p x 4 XFR), I feel like the TK800 and HT2550 have a bit of sacrifices too (sketchy 3d glasses support, light border, worse blacks than HT2050, etc), where the HT3550 is almost sacrifice free by comparison and comes WITH a dynamic iris at a pretty ridiculous price point for that. Plus it can drop in direct replace my 2050 with the same zoom, I would have to relocate with a TK800/HT2550 by comparison since they dont have similar zoom to the 2050.
Thanks for the info! After reading the reviews of all three (HT2550, HT3550, TK800), I may just wait for the HT3550K to go on sale next year perhaps for $1000 refurb with discount code.

I agree ht3550 is a big improvement and everything I want in a projector (4k laser ust is just too expensive). I saw the ht3550 in person & the resolution/color is better than benq 1080p projectors. It's been selling out. I almost want to pay full price now to enjoy it. I wonder if ht3550 will ever hit prices this low in a year. I feel like ht2550 probably didn't sell well due to optima 4k in the same price range so it is being cleared out. I think benq sees these as 1st Gen efforts. $674 price is the biggest price drop from benq I seen after only a year. And there are refurbished 2550 due to issues. But now, most ppl will buy ht3550 like how ppl bought ht2050. I forgot how much ht2050 dropped in price after the 1st yr. Optoma uhd50 and uhd60 is around $300-350 off for refurbished. But new prices stayed the same while the benq ht2550 dropped from $1500 to $1250 which shows that they know optoma was taking their sales. I don't expect that to happen for ht3550 since it should be the best bang for the buck projector now. benq 3550 is like the benq ht2050 that made benq the best budget projector. If it is the best, why would they dramatically drop the price? They can't even meet the demand for it right now.

I am hoping under $1000 ht3550 refurbished is realistic price in 1 yr. I rather settle on something I really want (even if I have to wait) than settle on the ht2550 even though these are tempting prices.

Another thing to consider is refurb is 1 yr warranty vs 3. Amex extends another 1 yr for refurb and 2 yrs for new. And refurb might have already lost 20% bulb life.

What's the BenQ's policy for number of dead pixels allowed?

I didn't see anything on LED, but this is their policy for LCD, so assuming it is probably similar.

Looks like they've bumped the price of the EL2870U to ~$290. Lame.
