Thanks, gives me confidence I'll be able to get a significantly better projector than these 2 in 6-9 months time, in the $1k range
Same here. As tempting as another projector is, I'd rather consume the bulbs on my 1080p projectors until 1 of them needs to be replaced hoping better/cheaper 4K projectors become available.

I've noticed I haven't seen HT2050 or W1070 refurbs for sale for ~$500 for a long time. Does BenQ not get refurbs on those any more and they are dead models? They are both serving me well so far. As soon as the first one dies, I want a better 4K projector for under $1K. It may not be BenQ next time around solely because I'm offended by the $200+ bulb replacement vs. $60-$80 for an Epson, but I drool over the thought of a 4K projector (and they had better not drop 1080p 3D mode in the 4K projectors) considering how great 1080p looks on a big screen. As I've said before, I've become a devoted projector lover.

Projectors + >= 120" screen + Atmos/DTS-X + big subwoofer = viewing happiness. TVs and sound bars give me the shivers.

I have not studied any of the current 4K projectors, but I'll save that task for when the time comes.

Nope. Different throw range. You'll need to move the 2550 back to get the same size screen.

The new 3550 can go in the same spot as the 2050. Might want to hold off one more year and wait for the 3550 to go refurb. Also gives them the time to work out all the bugs which seems like there are a few.
Thank you. Good thing i didnt impulse buy. Still have some time left on my 2050 bulb so i guess ill ride it out and get a 3550 when the time comes..thank you.

I'm in 'need' of a budget projector for outdoor use (it will be stored indoors) for a few neighborhood block parties. I will use it in my basement for the family. Is the 1080p one good to use? What do you all think?

EL2870U Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyhN_QYi3Gs

TL;DR: eh.
On the fence between the EL2870 and RL2755 for console gaming. I'm thinking I'd want 4k eventually and colors are supposed to be better on the former. That and sorta HDR freesync and an extra inch for $62 difference. Wondering if it'd future proof my monitor at all for newer consoles coming out.

The el2860u can you do spilt screen (multiple sources)? Or something similar? How does it compare to Samsung U28E590D? (About $299 at Best buy now)?

What brands are you looking at for equal or better prices? I'm looking for a 24/27"

-Thanks
More specifically, I am looking for 144hz, 1ms, Gsync monitors. The brands are Acer, Viewsonic, Dell, Secptre... They are almost all brands Smilie Up to now, Acer (XFA240 bmjdpr) and Viewsonic (there are multiple models) are my favorites.

Seems like the 1080p projector has a design flaw with regards to sound output. Sucks. The price is great otherwise. Almost bought it.

I have the 2050a in my theater room witha 120" screen and just under an 11ft throw distance. I have 4k elsewhere. I'm in no hurry to upgrade. Especially because the 3550 is my only option and seems quite buggy.

Thanks, I was looking for a 24" 240hz monitor for Overwatch. The XL2540 ended up being $290 shipped after NY tax. Being G-Sync compatible was just icing on the cake for me.

I have the mh530fhd, bought it last feb I think and it's amazing. I can slightly tell the rainbow effect at times, but not often. Pretty low input lag for gaming. Great image quality for movies. Ive put about 450 hours on the bulb (came with about 20ish) and it is still awesome.
Nice to know they are not new bulbs. Is there any known maximum amount of hours they allow on the bulb before they just install new bulbs in the refurbished projectors?
