Saying they're basically the same card is a huge exaggeration, when the 2060 is about 40% faster than the 1060 6GB. While it's clear that Nvidia has raised prices more with this generation than in the past, this card has performance that compares to the 1070 Ti, while the 1660 Ti is comparable to the 1070.

The reason I make the comparison is historically the next gen cards have performed on par with one model up from the older gen, while here they perform on par with two models up. What this means is you should actually be comparing your 1060 to the 1660 Ti and that all the RTX cards have effectively been promoted by a tier.

the single fan works due to the thickness of the card. (heat sink stack vertical rather than horizontal), but this is a 3 slot card. none of the ITX cases support 3 slots, which makes this card in a weird position.

I've noticed that most 2060s I see have 2/3 fans and it seems to be that this one has 1 fan. Is there a higher risk of overheating/ failures with this compared to other 2060s? Thanks for the help in advance

Looks like it has a lower boost clock than the other EVGA ones with more fans. But this has a higher boost clock than quite a few other single fan 2060s. They make these for smaller cases.

2060 is 4% faster on average than 1070TI and 7% faster than Vega 56. unless you are the lucky few that got the zotac 2070 for 340 dollars, this is the best card you can be for 300ish dollars today.

RTX 2060 still seems to be the best bang for the buck. Not a bad price. I was luck enough to pick up the EVGA RTX 2060 Ultra for $287 from Fry's back in January with a 20% off coupon. I'm very happy with mine...

Evga made some weird choices this gen. I think technically this is a 2.75 slot card but you are correct that it will not fit most (any?) Itx builds which is what cards this size are usually made for. Also the port selection with only 1 display port, 1 hdmi, and an ancient dvi-d port. I built a new itx rig a couple of months ago and initially looked at evga..saw this card and was like wtf is this. Ended up getting the zotac amp 2060 and it's a perfect size for my thermaltake suppressor.

i have a 1 fan EVGA 1060 6gb and that's my first and last single fan version of the GPU.

i'm also in a state of decline as i bought my GTX 1060 6GB 3 years ago for $250 no tax and now $309+tax for basically same card but a bit newer is considered a deal. I hope people will stop spending money and feeding corporations until they get back to reality.
