Awful.

People complain constantly of the descent of the ThinkPad line in Lenovo's hands since IBM, but it's even true of the bags. The toploader and backpacks produced for IBM back when their label was on Lenovo computers (only a decade ago) was Coach or Gucci compared to what Lenovo has made now. These aren't even on par with early Lenovo-banded bags made by Targus. Those were a step down from IBM-branded bags, but these now are atrocious.

Just bought the backpack from Amazon last week. I work at a Univeristy, so I wanted a backpack that didn't look like a student bag. This one fits the bill perfectly. It's slim and not bulky.

I did get the black bag (really a dark grey) for $15 from Amazon Warehouse.

I don't recall any IBM-branded carrying cases for $10.

Dell led to the bottoming-out and cheapening of the PC space - their only competitive weapon for years has been price, since they don't innovate. It is Lenovo (and to a lesser extent HP) that lead in the PC space, and smaller makers like Razer and Asus have some good features from time to time, but the smaller players in the PC space are shrinking. Worldwide, Lenovo and HP own about half of the PC market, and Dell is in the upper teens.
