I went in to best buy to get the try before you buy feel when these first started popping, there was not a single bit of interest left in me on these curved TVs when I walked out of the store. I literally placed myself in front of the TV and there was nothing interesting for me to be excited for, in fact the whole curve thing sort of looked like defect to me and decided am not yet up for these. The picture quality was just as same as other non-curve TVs, the only difference I found was that I could better experience it if I were a gamer and needed that experience on being in the game other than that no thanks.

Bought the TV last week for $470. Saw the price drop and went to Walmart for adjustment. Walmart wants me to bring the TV in to do the adjustment. So I am going to risk breaking a CURVE TV out of the Box and and on its stand to get the price difference? I told them they have the order number, my credit card and their response was it's store policy to bring in the merchandise for the price adjustment. Talked to the "Store Manager" and told them I wanted to speak to the "real" manager, and she said she was it. I then asked again, and they went to get a higher manager. Told them I was going to buy a new one and return the one I opened up and they would have to deal with an open box item. They said they were fine with that. Go figure. Walmart.com 800 number stated if I didn't do store pickup and had it delivered, they would have did the adjustment with no problem, and stated all stores have their own say on how they do adjustments. They agreed the store was being ridiculous. Decided just to do a Citi Price Rewind for the difference.
And those workers demand for better wages and work situation? No wonder why Walmart pays low which keeps stupid employees around.

If you are a single person watching something and your seating position is centered on the TV... Then yes. Put a family of 5 in front of a curved tv and you have the majority of the family with worse seating positions. Curved monitor is one thing, curved tv is another.
Meh. First hand experience. I have the Samsung 62xx something 55 in curved over my fireplace and the viewing angles are actually quite good regardless of where I sit in the room. I have a narrower room with a lot of length (all the way to the dining and kitchen) and I don't notice any problem, perhaps due to the narrowness. However, aesthetics over a fireplace are far superior imho. I kind of dig it. To each their own I suppose.

uh curved is objectively better. The problem is that they always charge more for it. It should be standard with any TV at this point.
If it was objectively better, wouldn't the ancient and classical painters likely have caught on and started using curved canvas?

I've owned several curved tv's 6, 7 & 8 series I've also owned the flat equivalent in 6 & 8 series.

The curve is very slight and truthfully doesn't make much difference. It does however make a difference on where your lighting/windows is in the room and how it reflects.

Of course one big feature is the only company that makes curved is Samsung and so people know instantly that it's a nicer tv.

This is a great price but it is the entry level model and in my opinion you are better off waiting until the prices come down on the non entry level models.

Of all the smart tv platforms though Samsung interface is the one I like best. I've owned and used all of them LG, vizio, roku and Sony. Last thing is the slim style Samsung remote is also one of the Easier Ones to use as well.

Our Walmart has the 2018 model but it's $749.99 but if you get the 2019 model it's cheaper at $697.99....yet still nothing even close to the price of $406.30....seems like this is the case on 99% of the items posted on here

Just pointing out that none of the mid to highline 2019 samsungs are curved. This may be a 3d type niche. Best buy just pulled all their curves down in my market.

For those who own this TV, how would you rate the picture while viewing in a dim or completely dark room?

Wow..incompetence.. I'd tell them to have their district manager contact you. If I was a dm I'd want to know what these bafoons were doing. Zero cust svc skills and common sense. I bet if you asked for their dm they would have changed their tune.

I saw this at $399 last week at 5 am, snoozed and missed. By 7 it went to $449. Just getting on a flight back from UK and it is 3:30 AM edt and I picked up for $409. By 7 or 8 it will probably go back up. Perfect for my mancave I will watch it alone right in front or while on the treadmill
