The Hunger Games showing up as HD. As a matter of fact, I purchased this back when it WAS 4K, and then last week I noticed that it got downgraded to HD. Kinda bullshit if you ask me. Did this happen to anyone else?

It would be nice if iTunes clearly marked which were MA compatible, but it is quite simple to search on the MoviesAnywhere site for anything you might be interested in

Yep. Vudu at least makes an effort but it's still horrible- you must click on the movie and then scroll to the bottom and search around. One would think they'd want to highlight the feature for extra sales but maybe they are afraid people will become aware of the other services and switch? Searching out tens of movies back and forth with MA is becoming too much of a PITA to bother anymore.

Yes, as a matter of fact it happened to me too for the same Hunger Game movies. Additionally, my Fast and the Furious 5 and 6 have been downgraded from 4k to SD and what's weird is the movie is showing up in my library but in iTunes, it's still showing as if I have never purchased it. In addition to all this, I own a blu-ray copy of The Box Trolls and used my code to redeem the movie on iTunes a couple of days ago and instead of giving me the HD version of the movie it gave me SD version only! I think you can sense my disappointment!
If anyone else is having this issue or has faced it, please PM me if you were able to find a solution. I don't want to digress from the deal thread.

I thought the furious extended redeems were safe if you redeemed them before they started redeeeming sd? I burned a fast 6 code a few weeks ago because the redemption sheet was showing UHD. but yes my first hunger games was also downgraded to hd

I don't know about the downgrading to SD business -- I've never had that happen to anything. But when iTunes makes some kind of change to the version of a movie that they are selling, it seems like it will sometimes cause the version that is on the store to be treated as a new product that's not linked to previous purchases. I have Fast & Furious 1-8 from the Blu-ray set (and they all still seem to be either HD or 4K in my library) but if I search for 5, 6, and 7 on the store it offers to let me "Buy" instead of "Play" them. They are still accessible from the library though.

Interestingly The Boxtrolls is no longer available on the US iTunes Store, but I redeemed my code for it a while back and I still have access to it in HD, as should be the case even if something is no longer available for purchase. Not sure what this has to do with your problem, but it might be related somehow -- I would try contacting iTunes support.

District 9 is shot with action cam resolution, is 4k really necessary for it?

I didn't even know MA had a search. I don't use it much, just as a link to Vudu.

I bought District 9 because there isn't a 4k Blu release of it yet. Unfortunately Vudu only has it in HDX so no Dolby Vision/Atmos for me, Just HDR using MA. Worth the $5 until the disk release I guess.

Wish some of the other streaming services offered DV, because if you don't have an Apple TV 4k Vudu is your only alternative for MA titles.
