WD Elements 6TB USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive

I was just looking at the 8TB models last night and thought $140 was a fair price. Wake up to find this 6GB model for $100. Great price, lowest Ive seen.

Use Promo code EMCTYVB36 to get the price.

Newegg deserves a gold star for the promo in lieu of MIR alone.

This has nothing to do with this drive - the USB powered vs AC adapter is simply 2.5 inch vs 3.5 inch drives. All 6TB drives are 3.5 inch so people looking for USB powered external hard drives wouldn't be clicking on this one Smilie And in case non-techies aren't aware of this difference, the picture of the gigantic bible sized drive should tip them off.

Requiring AC power isn't a "big problem" if it's being used for game storage for a console. It's not going anywhere and there's a outlet nearby. If you wanted this for work or school, then it would be a problem.

Great price given that this is typically what a 4TB drive hovers around.

Good enough for expanding XBox One S storage? I have multiple games I've had to remove to make room for others.

From what I have been able to gather recently, the 6tb Elements tend to come with blue drives.

I am no expert here, but the big problem I see with this particular drive is that it requires AC power. The portable drives are powered by USB alone.

Size wise, this drive should be plenty big though.

Yes. I have the 4TB version and haven't had any issues in the years I've have my One's (AW edition from 2014 and X).
