I agree that it doesn't make any sense for 15'' but if you get the 17'' 2070 one is cheaper

Yep, the base config 2060 model is $104 more expensive and doesn't include an SSD.

Got the unit, horrible backlight bleed in dark. All corners. Rest looks good so far. I ordered month back.

Mine has it on top, both sides, just away from the edges.... but bleeds down like 2 inches.... pretty bad.

I enabled Hybrid in g-sync via Vantage. Restarted and left the laptop on for a few hours of use and somehow myy backlight bleed maybe reduced to half of what it was. But still visible.

On a side note:

Does anyone know if this laptop or the 17" version supports overclocking like the options shown on the website picture for Vantage?

I got my laptop and it does not show any of that...

It seems Lenovo has not fixed it. It was the same light bleed issues with y740 units two months back. Thanks for gsync tip, will give it a try.

To your question on overclock, why you want to overclock this one. Or you are looking to undervolt? I have not have any option in mine as well. I am searching if option to undervolt it has provided.

I read on reddit there was an option as you said with vantage, I dont have it either.

to undervolt most use ThrottleStop or intel XTU , lots of guides out there. My 15" has virtually no backlight bleed, I would exchange it for a different unit if it's bad on yours.

I've used XTU in the past, but not ThrottleStop. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip. Glad to hear that you've no backlight bleed. I've contacted support to send me a replacement unit soon. I am yet waiting for an update. If no update I would simply send it back and probably wait for 9th gen models.
