Grabbed 3 of them, seems pretty nice so far for $19. I like the small footprint.

Picked one up a few days ago and despite it being a little flimsy, I'm actually very happy with it. Blows/circulates air very well and I don't intend to use the oscillation function too much. It's fairly quiet and comes with a remote with timer functionality to boot. Really can't beat the price for a 40" tower fan.

I have this fan - for $19 not too shabby, just be aware that all the buttons beep when pressed. And the lights are quite bright. Nothing electrical tape can't fix (for the lights), but again, the beep. Gah.

Bought one today. Plugged it in and get nasty rubber smell out of it. Let it run for a while but the smell didn't go away. Returning tomorrow for a replacement. Good fan otherwise.

This is the same fan that went on sale last year and it was selling like a hot cake. (same price)

I bought 10 for family and friends from rain check after they sold out for weeks. It is not that bad. Of course it is not a $50 fan that can whisper. You are going to hear it. It is not loud to be annoyed....

And it's $20....

There was a pallet when I went to my costco Sunday, probably sold out by now.

Yes, it feels cheap/flimsy and spins as fast at the lowest setting as the one I got from Walmart at the highest setting. Which is a good thing if you want more airflow, and a bad thing if you like to have a quiet mode. This thing definitely isn't quiet.

I bought 3 of these (because they were so cheap) but one of them has a the same nasty smell (that you described) even after 2 months of use. The 2nd one doesn't have this smell. So I think this is a problem with a few of these. Perhaps one Chinese worker uses too much motor grease or something like that. The smell only comes when the fan is running. Others have reported the same problem on Costco's website. I will return the 1st one and open the 3rd one to see if it okay or should be returned too.
