RING PRO Video Doorbell with 12 months Ring Protect Basic Plan $199

I picked up the Ring Pro Video Doorbell when it was posted last time at Costco for $189. Having recently installed my Ring Alarm System, when I activated my Ring Pro, it immediately upgraded from a 12 Month Ring Protect Basic Trial ($30/year) to a 12 Month Ring Protect Plus Trial ($100/year).

Given that my Ring Alarm System 30 day trial had just ended, I basically only paid $89 for my Ring Pro.

If you have a Ring Alarm System and want 24/7 monitoring as well as an extended warranty on all of your Ring devices currently under manufacturer's warranty, this deal is a no-brainer.

God Bless!

I'm not knocking your post, but this has been posted for months. The price seems to go from $189 to $199 fairly often with the 12 months included.

No worries. I'm not trying to claim an exclusive here. I even reference the previous price of $189 in my post. I just noticed that the new price was effective today and hadn't been posted yet. I wanted to share how the last posting worked out for me so that fellow SDers who are Ring Alarm users can also benefit from the increased savings on Ring Protect Plus.

That's why I said I wasn't knocking it, because I'm sure someone missed the previous posts or missed the important part in those previous posts about the 12 months of monitoring (which I think is huge).

Wait .... I am confused... Costco deal says it comes with Basic Plan (which costs $30 year) but since you have your Ring system they have upgraded to Protect Plus Plan (which costs $100/year)...

Is that the reason you are saying net cost is $199/$189 - $100 = $99/$89?

Any deals on Doorbell 2? From what I read the Pro has a irreplaceable battery in it that can't be serviced and is supposed to last 1-2 years max, rending it useless after the battery craps out.

The pro is hardwired only. No battery. The 2 had this same deal with 12 months protect plan for 189 at my local Costco yesterday.

Incorrect 'pro' info. it does have a battery and it will stop recording when the irreplaceable internal fails. See link:

You don't need to have the alarm system to get upgraded to plus. Installed a costco doorbell 2 w/1yr recording first, then later installed 2 spotlight cams, and all are being included on the 1 yr plan.

I think this costco plan is some special 1 yr trial that applies at the account level.

I recently upgraded to the Nest Hello after three years with the Ring pro.

Why? I got tired of the delayed recording and answering. The ring pro doorbell is good and begins recording when the motion zone is triggered. However, there were many times where I wished to have the 5-10 seconds before the recording started.

With the Nest Hello and its plan, it is recording all the time and reviewable up to 5 days. It's also almost instantaneous in answering the doorbell and chime. The difference is now I must pay $50/yr vs $30/yr. in the end, I'm much happier with the Nest Hello.

Correct...a net cost of $99 on this deal if you are already a Ring Alarm customer. Others have said that your plan is also upgraded from a Ring Protect Basic Trial to a Ring Protect Plus Trial if you add additional cameras. I'm just speaking to my personal experience having seen my plan upgraded to a Ring Protect Plus Trial because of my Ring Alarm already registered to my account.
