Fakespot sucks. Keep relying on it and you'll miss out on a lot of great deals and great products.

This thing is really good and accurate for what it does. The Fake reviewers on Amazon and Home Depot agree with me. Only issue I have is if you are trying to measure in a sunny area you may have some issues.

I used this exact Bosch laser (almost — mine didn't have backlighting) in my capacity as an estimator for cabinet painting. It worker very well and was well made. I threw mine in my briefcase after every job, and it never failed. It made my job much easier than trying to drag a tape measure around customer's kitchens, and home owners got a kick out of watching their cats and small dogs chase the red dot on the floor. The backlighting was what I told myself that I would never do without if I ever bought another one. It is indispensable. Sometimes in dark kitchens I had to hit it with a flashlight to see the screen. The only other issue with all lasers is that you need a flat object to reflect the laser back. No problem if you're measuring from wall to wall, but measuring cabinets that don't extend from wall to wall, calls for a little creativity. A Post-It note works great. The measurement includes the length of the laser.

I like mine. I've measured outdoors, but have to bounce it off a white piece of cardboard. The range is shorter outside, but I did not expect more. I'm still on my first set of batteries too.

Lowest price for this particular model but similar ones from other brands are same price or less. And some of those have longer range too.
I was about to pull the trigger but hesitating now wondering what makes this any better than those other ones.

Can somebody tell me why this is not an overpriced tool with limited features compared to, for eg tacklife, etc.

decent deal if you must have it now, else I might wait. Picked up a GLM 35 120' model for not much more in a past Amazon sale. The longer range will be handy for outdoor use.
