Just search RP-450C (correct, not a typo) on amazon, click the product link. Then go to the "sellers" page and pick Sound Distributors Inc., send them a message under "shipping" and ask if they are willing to upgrade the speaker to a RP-504C if you order the RP-450C.

Wait for their reply, in my case it was within a few hours. When Eric says yes, then proceed to order the 450C, once ordered, send him a message again with your order number just to confirm...

Mine came within 3 days of ordering....

Enjoy

Well you may not need to go through all of that. I almost bought a scratch n dent 450c last week from eBay from them. After calling, he confirmed they didn't have any more new units. But Amazon still lists the 450c new from them for $450. Figured I'd give it a try. Sure enough, a new 504c showed up at my door. So in my case I didn't even ask for an upgrade. He just doesn't have any more new 450c units. Not sure anyone does.

By asking them, at least you have the assurance that you are getting what you really want (if you want the new model as opposed to the older model)

The normal list price on a RP-504C is $650, even at frys electronics, they wouldn't honor their 10 - 20% discount... so I am happy and just wanted to share what I have experienced.

I don't understand why people would down vote a thread trying to help others out... what a world we live in.

$350 for the newly released 504C that retails for $650? Really?

Yeah I completely agree. You can't even find the older 450c model for $350 refurbished. If anyone is like me and purchased the 280FA towers and want the recommended center channel to go along with them, then this is the deal to get.

Ordered one today and already shipped out, very responsive to messages, it seems like there is an automated reply back that states that you will get a automatic free upgrade to newer model if you order the RP-450.

I'm tempted but would I lose the warranty in this case? Since I wouldn't have a receipt for the 504c

Just ordered, curious to see if this works for other Klipsch speakers through them. They are an authorized dealer.

Worked perfectly. It went from messaging them and having the order ship in about 18 hours. Great timing as I'm piecing together a 5.2.4 system and was just going to get a basic Reference system with the built-in up firing. Now I'm going to go the extra mile and get a nice Premiere set with actual in ceiling speakers for the Atmos. Just now need to see what else they can give a free upgrade to.
