Costco In-Store Offer: T-Mobile Samsung S10e, S10, S10+ Get up to $300 Back w/ Trade-In NO ADD A LINE + $100/$150 instant discount(5/3/2019 - 5/21/19)

Deal ends 5/21/19 as per T-Mobile page

https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-39863

For a limited time, save up to $300 when you purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, or S10+ at Full Retail Price (plus tax) from a Costco Warehouse and trade-in an eligible device. Fulfilled via one-time credit for fair market value of trade-in device, then remainder via rebate.

Yes, it's less back than past offers and requires a trade-in, but does not require adding a line and works on any voice rate plan, so those with grandfathered accounts that do not want to mess with their rate plan can possibly get a deal.

Some better than market values offered on the trade-in list, such as Pixel 1

Trade in an eligible device in good condition on the same order as your new Samsung:

Eligible trade-ins for $300
Apple iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus
Samsung Galaxy S8 series, S9 series, Note8
LG V40, V30, V30+, G7, Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL
OnePlus 6T

*** Possibly Samsung S7. List at Costco shows S7 being on the $300 tier, not $200. You may receive the lower amount, but a message to T-Force and sending them a copy of the documents from Costco will probably resolve it.

Eligible trade-ins for $200
Apple iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 6, 6 Plus
Samsung Galaxy S7 series, Note5, S6 series
LG V20, G6
OnePlus 6

Eligible trade-ins for $100
Apple iPhone 5c, 5, 5s, SE
Samsung Galaxy S4 series, S5 series, Note4
LG G5, G4, V10
OnePlus 5, 5T

Current In warehouse prices before tax after $100/$150 additional discount:
S10e: $549.99
S10: $749.99
S10+: $849.99

YMMV: Costco's May coupon book shows the S10 will be $200 off, so $649.99. If you bought at $749.99 you might be able to get $100 refunded on 5/22

Use a Citi card for possible/likely price rewind if you think better deals will come due to S10 5G release.

*edit*
Personal opinion of OP: This deal probably won't be attractive to anyone hoping to flip the phone for a profit, but for someone who needs to replace a phone for personal use and doesn't want to deal with adding and cancelling lines, or can't add lines, I don't know of a better deal.

Thanks for sharing and for including important information about the deal.

The first-gen Pixel from 2016 being able to fetch $300 seems pretty good for a trade-in. Also, Galaxy S8 from 2017 being able to fetch the same is good, too, especially when a brand new one can be had directly from Samsung for $350 in 2018; that said, Samsung.com still has a $350 trade-in value for the S8.

I'd wait for the 5g model as there will be better deals ahead on the non 5g models. Just my 2 cents. But kudos for them taking older iPhones on trade.

I don't think anyone has found a way, but that's also nothing new. Some people don't care about rooting.

I'm on the fence myself to be honest. There is a very good chance of other deals coming, but that also means a higher chance of a Citi Price Rewind kicking in. Also there is no way to know if there will be a deal without Add A Line. If you need a phone soon for whatever reason, this isn't terrible. A working pixel with LCD burn can be had for around $75.

whats Costco price on S10e ?
In Warehouse is $50 less than on the Membership wireless price, if I'm not mistaken.
That would be:
S10e: $699.99
S10: $849.99
S10+: $949.99

What does "good condition" mean? The terms don't say, so is it arbitrary?

Some? 99.9999% of people don't care about rooting. Especially with all the customization Samsung lets you do nowadays out of the box.

Only the exynos model (international version) can be rooted. If you buy in Costco you will be getting the snapdragon variant (sold in US/Canada) which can't be rooted.

I'll add that if you root the exynos model you will lose Samsung pay and S-health. Not to mention your warranty is permanently voided. In my opinion you lose more features than you gain by rooting the newer Samsung phones.

My gut tells me people will get the 5g model only once available even though it will be useless for most for the next year or so. I just got the Pixel 3 XL on the one day sale but really want an S10+ so I'm holding out for a better deal but the points you bring up are spot on. If I needed a phone this second it's a fair deal, I agree.

I traded in 4 Pixels that had minor/moderate LCD burn-in for the January S9 deal without a problem. No personal experience with extreme burn-in, however.

From past personal experience with these trade-ins it means: no cracks or water damage. Some average scratching on the screen/sides was acceptable.
