I originally bought this when it was $350, but it doesn't have an adjustable stand, so I ended up getting the 650 (which is the same monitor but with a better stand).

If you don't care about the stand, this is a no brainer. Great monitor otherwise.

I have this monitor. Love it.

4k is hard to run. if you're at 40-50fps with freesync it would still feel smooth

Any current owners have any thoughts on whether I should jump on this, or wait for the 27UK650 to drop to this price?

Is 4K REALLY that big of a difference from 1080p in both games/movies?

I ask because...I have a 2018 4K tv Dolby vision etc etc
An Xbox one X
Nd I'm MY honest opinion, when it comes to games...it looks almost the same? Even if they have been "enhanced" Nd as for movies...well I can't differentiate between 4K Nd blu Ray. Someone pls...help

Yes. But there's so many factors that decide whether you'll actually enjoy the benefit or if its negligible in your situation.

Screen size, screen bit depth, screen brightness, coverage of hdr color gamut. distance you sit from screen. hdr source. whether it's a 4k disc or 4k streaming.

By the time it gets to your eye balls, it should be very clear whether your investment paid off or not.

but honestly. if you're talking 4k non hdr vs 1080p non hdr. then it probably makes 0 difference other than less aliasing around the edges of objects in games. and most games force anti aliasing now. to reduce the render stack variations for render efficiency and also so it won't look bad on twitch and YouTube.

If you have a stand already or planning to buy one (or use some old text books), then you can get this, otherwise, the 650 with a stand is better. Another option is to but a separate stand that's about $40. This supports VESA 100 mount/stands.

The difference is really in the ability to see individual pixels. With a monitor that's 27" in size, the text and images appear to be very smooth (like iphone "retina" displays), though it would be even better if it's 26" or so.

I also don't see much difference between a 1080p movie vs a 4K movie on my 4K TV. Though there are certain nature documentaries on 4K bluray disc (not streaming) that I can see more of a difference.
