Editor's Notes & Price Research

When the system is armed, it sends instant alerts to your phone and tablet whenever doors or windows are opened and when motion is detected at home, so you can monitor your property from anywhere. Ring Alarm is fully customizable and expands to fit any home or apartment. Also, lets you control your entire home security system from one simple app and if the power goes out, your property will still be protected by the 24-hour backup battery.

If you go with the monitored service for $10/month or $100/yr, all of your Ring devices remain warrantied as long as your paid plan remains active.

Many home insurance companies discount your home insurance premium if you maintain a centrally monitored home alarm, offsetting the cost of service. State Farm's discount is 6%, but I've heard of other insurers offering up to a 10% discount.

I like this bundle vs. others I've seen offered with 2 motion sensors and fewer contact sensors because enabling those contact sensors while having motion sensors disabled in "home mode" allows you to have your alarm on while at home, but not worry about tripping motion sensors. This is handy, not only for physical security reasons, but to be alerted if kids or other family members who need supervision try to open a door or window. Some people prefer to use motion sensors in main arteries (like hallways) instead of contact sensors in every room, but that configuration does not allow for this functionality. Plus, even when enabled, you wouldn't necessarily be alerted about an intruder until they were already inside your house.

Highly recommended, I've been using it since February and it has been rock solid plus it saving me $200 plus a year from my previous alarm company

Can this be hooked into or with a system that is already in place and hardwired?

I know there is some konnected.io thing or something, but wondering if ring has taken advantage of leveraging existing hardwired stuff

Cancelled ADT. Got this and the Ring 2 from Costco last time around.
Saved me some $$$ and Adt had the nerve to ask me to sign back up...at $55 a month. Haha

I am lost. Can anyone explain what's different between this and the ring video doorbells and camera?
Which device will let me see who stole my packages at the door? Smilie Thanks.

Ring Video doorbell.
The product in the OP is motion detector or contact sensor (moment in the window, if you have the contact sensor in the window) notification to your phone.

Are there any other contact sensors that work with this system that aren't white? I think my wife would kill me if I put these on every one of our stained wood windows.

How well would these work if a burglar shattered the window to get in rather than pry it open?

Video doorbells and camera are not a security system, they only record who comes to your door. This is a security system that includes sensors for your doors/windows and motion sensors inside in the event that someone breaks into your house, at which point a loud siren goes off and if you pay for the monitoring service, law enforcement can be notified.
