I'm not claiming that nobody has ever received a wrong version, but I don't trust some of those reviews. There are a lot of ignorant people out there and I would have to see proof before I believed them. I read through some of the reviews and many of them clearly do not know what they're talking about.

Some of them were complaining about no wireless charger. Do they not know that the gen 2 comes in 2 versions? One with the wireless charging case and one with a wired charging case? I suppose not.

Others were complaining about no LED on the charging case. That's only for the wireless charging case.

You can see by the amount of downvotes that many of those clueless reviews have received, that they were clearly incorrect and bogus, written by ignorant people, because they're factually incorrect.

I noticed that as well. Reviewers saying the same.
I also see many reviews saying that these are indeed second gen AirPods.

I doubt Costco would lie. It clearly says on the product page that these are the latest model,

Well looks like it's a game of chance then. Those were also recent reviews showing gen 1's were received. Looks like you may get gen 1 or gen 2. It's happened quite often in the past from Costco on these AirPods and other items as well. So they do indeed lie. Or at least they don't guarantee you get what they have listed.

Yup, that is an accurate statement. Probably worth it to pull the trigger, if the wrong ones are received then just return them or live with it. There isn't much of a benefit with the gen 2's over gen 1's anyway...unless you use a lot of talk time with them.

I love my AirPods. Looks like I'm ready for another pair since the wife keeps stealing mine.

I haven't tried the newest ones yet, but the latency is also supposed to be better, which helps when gaming etc., and the connection is supposed to be more stable and also quicker to switch between devices.

I'm a Costco member, so I might just get a pair of these myself. I'm not worried about getting the wrong version.
