Good Deal...thumbs up.... I really like mine.....BUT

The eBay seller does not mention this in the title..that this is a DTS Play-Fi speaker that works with Alexa [play-fi.com]....it is not an actual Echo Device.

That has some benefits and some disadvantages...but research it if you have a very specific purpose in mind. The F4 is actually a rebranded Phorus PS10...and more specifics on how it works areavailable on the Phorus site. [phorus.com]

The F4 will do most but not all of the smart home things an Echo will do. It actually connects to more music services than an Echo will, but not all of them can be voice controlled.

It sounds a lot better than an Echo or Echo Plus. And will connect to any other Play-Fi devices. I love mine.

BUT, if you have specific Alexa things you need it to do, you should research a bit first to be sure it will do them.

This guy speaks the truth. These 3rd party speakers usually have great sound have Alexa integration but update support is usually minimal like whenever Alexa gets new updates with new features.

Interesting - thanks for the heads-up on the small challenges these devices have. Is the sound quality superior enough to justify?

Play-fi is actively updating its Alexa connected features....they just do not always happen the same moment as Amazon updates Echo devices. I wish I could be more specific but I do not currently have one hooked up and what it does changes.

For me absolutely. I think it sounds as good as the Harman Invoke (which I guess few people have heard) but not quite as good as a Sonos One.

There is some information on the F4 capabilities here. [play-fi.com] But if you need a specific feature (like using the echo connect to your home phone for example) you should research a bit.

Thanks again. I don't have a real issue with the limitations; I'll browse a bit and see what I can find.

Does it work as a standard Bluetooth-enabled speaker that connects directly to iOS/Android devices, or do you have to use an app to stream to it?

No Bluetooth. It streams from apps including the Play-fi app, Spotify, and quite a few more. Not bluetooth. There is a Line/Aux input for a wired connection on the back. .

Can you play music stored on the phone to this speaker?
