Amazon.com Free Product Samples Sign up Page. YMMV

+365 Deal Score

I just noticed a banner at the top of the Amazon.com page that said "Sign up for free samples".

Here's the link - https://www.amazon.com/sample/preferences

In the past I've randomly received free samples in the mail.

https://www.amazon.com/samples

Good luck. Smilie

FAQ:
  • Do I have to pay for samples?
    • No, samples are free and you don't have to pay for anything. Amazon surprises select customers with samples that we think will be delightful and helpful.
  • Do I need to be a Prime member to receive samples?
    • No, anyone with an active Amazon.com account is eligible to receive free samples. If you're selected to receive a sample, the sample will be sent to your default address. If you'd like to receive samples at a different address, you need to change the default address in Your Account.
  • Is there a limit to how many samples I can get?
    • Currently, there's no limit to how many samples you can get from Amazon.
  • What kind of samples will I get?
    • Below are examples of products sampled historically.

thanks...i've had 'yes' selected for years and was surprised to see none of the checkboxes checked...so perhaps that's why I've yet to randomly receive samples...seems there's some room for UX/validation improvement there

I'm not sure how it all works. Out of the blue I got some free San Francisco Bay Coffee Pods (K-cups) in the mail once and the box it came in mentioned it was an Amazon Sample. Maybe random or based on buying habits. Note sure. Dontknow I've bought coffee K-cups a bunch of times on Amazon.

in exchange for getting your spending habit, personal info, and purchase history, here, have a $5 (or so) samples we hope you buy soon
True, because until checking a few boxes about what samples I'd prefer, my shopping history was a total mystery and that data never, ever would have been sold. This changed everything.

Same here. Was part of focus groups and surveys and all that. Still, no samples (apparently because of some check boxes). If someone believes their product is good enough to send me some for free (tax write-off or not) I'll gladly try it. A quarter of the time I end up buying the stuff. Thanks OP! Repped

I read that they also base you being selected to receive samples on your reviews. The quality, information and knowledge of products and quantity of reviews in certain product categories. Review the actual product and its performance, not giving it 1 star because "it arrived late, broken or delivered to the wrong address". Those have nothing to do with the product or its performance, these issues should be addressed with the company or the carrier. For example, you have been purchasing and reviewing "smart" products, they are more likely to send you more sample products being introduced into their inventory hoping you will post reviews. I have purchased items that have no reviews and been offer, through email, a $5 incentive to be the first to write a review. I hope this helps.

i wouldn't say your data is safe with amazon. they may be better than google or facebook, but you can bet they "use" your data to get $$$, even without free samples
Sarcasm is lost on you.
