Is this not the 2018 model where the web cam is down by the keyboard?

Avoid Rakuten. They are shady at best. Still waiting for refunds on orders they cancelled.

What the heck are you talking about?

Rakuten is an online market place similar to eBay's marketplace.

You should pay more attention to which vendors you're purchasing more. They have rating systems on them.

I expect this laptop with these specs below $1k. I have no use for these Rakuten points.

A few weeks ago I got this laptop with a 256 SSD off a Slick Deals Best Buy post. A really nice quality build. Battery life a bit low. Read the reviews. FWIW, Paid about $600 for an open box.

Very good price for a new XPS13 shipped from dell with these specs, especially if you can use the $148 on a future purchase (I think that's how it works), bringing the price equivalent down to about $1,000 - I've not seen lower in the 3 years I've been purchaisng these. I'm typing these comments on this model, which I get for employees at the office. Yes, this is the prior year version with the webcam bottom-center of the screen instead of top-center of the screen like the new model, and yes this is a higher resolution 4K screen that will eat up battery life about 1.5 hours more quickly. Also, no "old" USB-A port on this. I've gotten the same specs as this on an Acer 2-in-1 from BB that is actually lighter - came with a stylus and full-HD instead of 4K, for about $825 after promotions - my wife likes it a lot.

Did it have an i7 processor, 4K touchscreen, and 16GB RAM? Probably not for only $600. Some of these come with an i3 processor, non-touch full-HD screen, and 8GB RAM.

Refurbished != new, especially for credit card extended warranties. However, you can get some great deals at the outlet.

What about open box? For Apple stuff, Best Buy open box laptops have full 1 year Apple warrantees. I hope my Visa card will extend the warrantee for an additional a year. True or false. And do you have a reference from Visa or MC?

Rakuten routinely offers sitewide discounts to drive membership, then cancels orders when vendors reject the price cut.
