This always pops up but wished they had an in wall setup similiar to this. My TV is above the fireplace and this will just be to bulky. Oh well!

I'm aware the brands have different tiers of offerings, but if all I was looking for was a pair of bookshelf speakers, what are good brands? Polk ok?

(Story: Had a 5speaker setup for my PC via a receiver, but renovated and broke 1 speaker. I plan to get a new bookshelf pair. All I do is spotify/youtube so.)

Polk is quite decent for the price. Their signature, RTI and lsim are all pretty good. What is your budget and size preference?

I'd ask to, what type of media are you playing? Movies? Music only?

Was interested in the $880 one. Emailed Klipsch asking for a frequency response graph of the sub and their response "we don't give out that information". lol really? Even Behringer supplies it. Would be like a car company not giving the mpg. I'll be searching for other branded speakers from now on.

The subwoofer is 150w RMS at most, OP you should put 300w peak so not true power in other words.

OP is just using the description provided by the manufacturer. It's not really up to OP to interpret that for everyone. It's really the responsibility of the manufacturer to market their speakers according to their RMS values, but almost no mainstream manufacturers do this.

In other words, he had no clue what you were asking him and yes that is very alarming. At least find you someone that can answer that...

Does anyone know if the RX-V685 supports a second source for zone2, either audio only or A/V? I searched a bit and can't find much information on it. As close as I can find to an answer is that Yamaha is very clear to explain on the product page for the V485 that it only supports a second zone with the same source, a statement that is notably absent from the V685... Though I take that with a grain of salt since it's more expensive and they might not want to advertise that it's not a true second zone.

And how well does bluetooth output work, especially regarding delay? I'd love to run a bluetooth speaker outside when we have friends over, but am worried about the delay driving me bonkers.

Unfortunately the cubbyholes the speakers are for are too small for any of those.I'd end up getting a TL type (if 1, 5-set; if 3, pair of shelfs). OR...

General interneting: music streaming, youtube/misc videos.

Considering this, for this price: https://www.polkaudio.com/products/magnifimax
It's $100 more than the above TL options, but it's $100 off currently.

Sitting at a desktop/workstation? If so, my suggestions:
https://www.edifier.com/us/en/spe...-subwoofer
https://www.edifier.com/us/en/spe...-subwoofer

Sitting further away in the room? If so, my suggestions:

I'm really pleased with the clarity from my set of S330D's for when I'm working at my desk. And it's nice to have optical out. I plan on going with a larger set of Edifers for home entertainment center.

.2 cents.

Yep, desktop. The 350 is tempting! Specs and quality-wise I take you at face value, but it fits my space and is $100 cheaper. Thanks!

I highly doubt it does a 2nd source for zone 2. I know the aventage line from Yamaha does but that's a step up in price.
