This was $219 a week ago right when a lot of people missed the deal?
Did Lowe's wise up and increase the price this time around?

This is not a deal. This is like buying 2 items at the going prices or higher in a bundle.

Heads up as well, Google just announced they are ending the Works with Nest API this August, locking out any third party control of their devices. If your ok only just using their app and their own devices to control them it's no issue, but they are killing a pretty big feature for anyone who wants a bit more flexibility and control.

IMO, I would avoid google going forward unless they change their position on this.

Not entirely true. They are changing the API and there will still be third party products supported, but they are tightening security so most will have to be rewritten to use the works with google assistant API, but many providers have already said they will have updated their apis before the August cutover.

It's not as dire as you paint it to be. I use google home products and haven't found an integration I use yet that will be permanently broken. Doesn't mean there won't be any, but it's important to actually see if it will impact you.

This is a better deal than buying the 2 items separately. $199 hub + $99 hello = $298. This deal is $279 for both...

I think you have the prices for hub and yellow switched but in any case the hub has been $70 multiple times. The nest can be had for 199 at Costco with google mini and 1 year subscription. Which means this deal is really not that great if you can wait for those deals to come around.

Better to be safe than sorry. I wouldn't touch nest products until it is all hashed out in August.

The deal is on!
As of now Hub is at $129 and the Hello doorbell is at $229
When you buy this stuff at Lowe 's you save $79 and get a free mini!!
Seems to be working for me!
