I don't think its transferable... Can someone confirm?
The refill cards are NOT locked to any phone nor any account.

Also for those of you inquiring about unlocking this you will have one hell of a time getting this Tracfone device unlocked, no matter which carrier it's through (this one is Total Wireless)

I purchased one of these previously with I believe it was the Pixel 2 and had no issues trading it in towards the Pixel 2

How was the tradin. experience with google - will they give the credit as promised or at least close to it ? if the phone is in the condition mentioned at trade-in ?

The hard part is figuring out what to buy with the google store credit
Phone case and headphones seems to be the best bet

Yep. You are right, the device should be reset, unlocked and disconnected from carrier service plans. Carrier locked phone can be reset but can't be unlocked without carrier informing apple to put IMEI number on unlocked list. This is tough decision to trade in for Pixel 3a.

I believe you're reading it wrong. The iPhone does NOT need to be carrier unlocked. I have a Simple Mobile iPhone SE that I am attempting to trade in for the Pixel 3a.

I just selected "other" as the carrier

As did lots of others, does not say anywhere unlock from carrier is required.

Google and Hyla are not responsible for data loss, data recovery, or any related damages under this Trade-In Program. It is Your responsibility to remove all personal data from Your Device before shipping it to Hyla. In addition, you must do the following:

Factory-reset Your Device, unlock Your Device (including removing Your Device from any services that prevent it from being activated), and remove all SIM and memory cards from Your Device;

Disconnect Your Device from your existing wireless service plan; and

Ship Your Device to Hyla using the shipping materials and guidelines that Hyla provides. Google and Hyla will not be liable for any loss or damage to Your Device while in transit.

I think they meant don't lock the phone after reset
