Skip the SX6000 but grab the SX8200 Pro. Good price.

Adata has a good thing going with Massgenie.

Great prices.

Too bad the SX8200 Pro 1TB is not included.

Thanks for pointing out the different model numbers - I grabbed the SX8200 512GB, but can only buy 1 at that price; I may buy one of the SX6000 for a laptop or secondary machine.

SX6000 Pro spec sheet [adata.com]

SX8200 Pro spec sheet [adata.com]

Specs say they both have a Gen3 x 4 lane pci-e interface, but the SX8200 has a dram cache and the SX6000 doesn't, which makes the SX8200 roughly (depending on what speed test you use) 66% faster reading and 100% faster writing than the SX6000. The SX6000 is single-sided vs the double-sided SX6820, which might be useful if I put a SX6000 in a laptop.

Still, the SX6000 Pro is very fast compared to a SATA SSD.

The HP EX920 is a much better card compared to the SX6000 for about the same price.

For a laptop, if 256GB is sufficient, the best bang for the buck right now is the $40 Samsung SM961 OEM of the 960 Pro. Designed for laptops - single-sided, power efficient, extra capacitors for battery failures during transient data, MLC durability, etc. Available on Ebay with no tax and on Newegg with tax.

I am quite dubious about the long term reliability of Adata...
