I have the 2, is the screen any brighter on this one? The 2 is unreadable outdoors.
I have both the 2 and the 3. The 3 is a bit brighter and is plenty bright enough most of the time, but I still have some trouble viewing it in direct sunlight.

For $20, this is an excellent deal. This is the lowest price I've seen. There's a version 4 that's supposed to be coming out soon, but it's probably going to be in the $40-50 range. Also, there are 2 apps that really make this device shine: Notify & Fitness for Mi Band (my favorite) and Tools & Mi Band. These will give a lot more control over notifications so that you can assign specific vibrations to contacts, integrate with Tasker and Sleep as Android, and reorganize the device screens. The Notify app also does a good job tracking workouts and plotting heart rate data onto a map.

The straps for the Mi Band 3 are much better, snugger against the Mi Band, and do not break as frequently. I have had mine for about a year, and the strap is still in excellent condition. With the Mi Band 2 straps, I had lots of problems with the Mi Band falling out, or the inner lining piece breaking, causing the strap to be worthless. No problems with this one.

Requires an account, which is not great. No guest checkout. Do they accept PayPal? I can't get that far without an account.

I have had pretty much all Mi bands. Fun fact, they all still work including the first one which only had 3 LEDs.
I've had the 3 since it came out. It's fantastic. Yes, it is somewhat hard to read in direct sunlight. I also disagree, the heart rate may not be right on the money, but it's close enough. The app works well now, I did see it was just updated but will wait for other to report back first. My battery, with constant heart rate monitor, lasts about 2-3 weeks. I also agree, the wrist band is much better quality, smoother and it also holds the actual mi unit rock solid in place. With the 2 and prior, if you got caught somewhere, and the band was well used, the unit could fall out
I haven't heard about the MI Band 4 yet. They seem to take their time and I suspect it may still be a while. There are always a few leaks and tons of news about the next MI band but it always takes forever for them to actually become available.

I had the all three variations of the miband. I've lost all three of them due to the strap came loose.

The miband 3 strap held up longer, but after some time, I guess the hole stretched and it became looser and didn't hold as well. For $25 (what I paid for it) it was a great tracker and I am not too heartbroken.

Been using it for a few months. No complaints. Pretty accurate for the most part. It's only $20 so what could someone expect? Amazing battery life. A bit hard to read outdoors.

I think the MiBand 4 will be out in a bit, and this is about the best deal you'll see on the 3. Thx OP.
Last time I was looking for a band like this it was for the 2 and everyone was saying the 3 is coming out soon lol.

I guess I'll stick with my $10 vivofit for now

Don't expect Mi band 3 to provide anything close to accurate heart rate monitoring.
My 1s is pretty accurate for heart beat

For those concerned about the strap coming loose, there are a ton of other straps available for the Mi Band. I like being able to switch it up between the silicone type straps and 2 metal ones in stainless and black metal. Look for the type that doesn't have screws as these are a lot easier to use.

How does the weather on these work? I like my mi band 2 but would love to have weather info on it.

I've had the Mi Band 2 and 3 and I agree that the strap on the 3 is loads better. I went through 3 or 4 straps in the 2 years I had the Mi Band 2 and I'm still on the original Mi Band 3 strap after almost a year and no sign of wear. Now my kids have the Mi Band 2 and my wife and I have the 3. The exercise options are much better on the 3 and it's nice that it saves the last 5 notifications as well. With the 2 I was always missing the notification and it came in such small chunks I could never read it. The 3 shows a lot more info and you can read the whole thing or go back and check if you missed it.

In answer to the question about weather, it comes from the app on your phone so if it hasn't synced with the phone for a while it won't give you the weather.

The 3 is a little bit brighter than the 2 but I still can't read it in direct sunlight without cupping my hand over it. That's not usually an issue though.

It's a bummer that it's a bit bigger than the 3 but for all the extra features I'm fine with it. I get about 15-16 days per charge and it only takes an hour or so to charge.

Just wanted to say, my (not international version) MiBand 3 does NOT allow any Google notifications (like hangouts) on iOS. Notify & Fitness that everyone suggests is not available on iOS.

So, if you need google hangouts / chat notifications, look elsewhere for iPhone users.

Otherwise, I've had the 1s, 2 and 3 and can say they do last. They are reliable and have a long battery life even after a year of use. My favorite feature is that "find your phone" beep it can make your phone do when you keep it connected via Bluetooth.

Spend more money and buy Honor 4.
When I was thinking of buying one of these bakc in January I could not find a solid comparison that showed why honor 4 was better. All the comparison reviews seemed to be biased, like they were selling one or the other. What reasons would you give for honor band 4 over mi band 3?
