Looks like it is that time of year again.

Lowes and Home Depot have discounted landscaping timbers to $2.50. It is the common 2.5x3.5x8ft for HD, 3x4x8ft for Lowes.

I do not recommend ordering for store pickup! Go and select the timbers yourself, or else you will get all of the warped/mangled pieces left at the top of the pile from other customers.

Menards is also apparently having the same sale per SD user Daltonio, but the website doesn't yet reflect it.

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

When choosing timber/posts like this, it's wise to avoid those from the center of the log (like the one pictured at the top of this listing). Wood from nearer the edge of the log will warp and twist less over time.

No but I'd rather not have to price match just about everything I'm gonna buy if I'm buying multiple items.

I miss Menards since moving from the midwest. Frown

Their website doesn't reflect the sale, so I can't link the sale for them, but I will edit my original post. Thanks for the heads up.

It is nice not having to pay way more for the same exact stuff Lowe's has for sure. Here's the link their app gave me : https://www.menards.com/main/p-1444422505299.htm

Do you know Lowes price matches plus 10% ?
If you "pay way more for the same exact stuff " your doing it wrong .

They no longer PM + 10% at any Lowe's store around me (ymmv?). Home Depot, still does the additional 10%.

These are normally about $3.50 most limber yards, so if you're buying a lot this is a good savings.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but as this is landscaping lumber, what are the best applications for this? Like a perimeter or something? What other projects would this type of lumber be good for?

Good advice on picking yourself. When my Mom goes to Home Depot she says maybe one in five is any good.
