If you are going to use this just for gaming, its not really worth the extra $100 over the 2600x

Good deal but...

For just $60 more you get oh so dreamy 5Ghz with 3700X.

I mean, it's just $60. One gas fill up of your car. One mid-sized grocery trip. One dining experience in some budget priced joint.

Yet this extra 700Mhz and +4 cores (or whatever) will serve you for the next 4-5 years. You really want to throw that away for $60?

(I know I know, mobo RAM etc...)

I'll wait. I upgrade like once every 10 years, it's not something I want to skimp on. Unless you absolutely don't have $60, I don't see why buy now and regret later.

Dropping prices to increase sales before the Ryzen 3000s release in the near future and then people stop buying the 2000s.

In about 3-4 more weeks the Ryzen 3600x will release, cost about $230, and will outperform the 2700x, so thats probably the better bet... change my mind.
In 2 months from now amd 4800 will out perform the 3000 series maybe then you should also consider about it first

I based my comment on game benchmarks and the 2700x averages 5fps more per game over the 2600x. I doubt streaming would make much of a difference since the 2600x has more threads than games use.

"Dr. Su is scheduled to deliver a keynote at Computex 2019 in Taiwan on Monday, May 27. According to the press release, she will "provide new details about the next generation of high-performance AMD platforms and products," including Ryzen 3000 and Navi (GPU).

It's not clear if AMD will officially launch its third-generation Ryzen processors (and also Navi) at Computex, though it seems likely. AMD has already said the new CPUs will come in the second quarter, and by the time Computex rolls into view, there will only be a few weeks left.

Actual availability should be not long after, as AMD has said for some time now that third-gen Ryzen will ship in mid-2019."

So, I guess the answer is no. I'm happy to pop in the 2700X into my main box and keep rotating the new CPUs throughout my other AM4 mobos.

Um, not release, but be announced. Who knows when the release date will be. Dont give out false information/misleading info.
