I'm aware of the modding abilities of this series of mobos. The point is OP can't state that it supports said cpu out of the box like they did. It's extremely missleading for those SD members that aren't aware it will require modding to make "said support" work.

From the factory (which is what 99.9% of SDer's are going to be educated on) it only supports 6th/7th gen. To make it compatible with 8th/9th gen there is modding required to the board and it's bios. This part is going to be way over the majority of members heads here (the 99.9%).

Therefore the OP should have stated such to not mislead people into believing they can purchase the board and a 9900K and be ready to rock when it arrives as that isn't the case. If done there is a very good chance they can nuke the chip and possibly the board without modding the board first.

I agree with you OP should change the description to say the board has native support for 6/7th Gen and can be modified to have compatibility with 8th/9th gen.

+1 on that OP is misleading that this board supports 8th and 9th gen CPUs.

Getting hyper-threading to work with the modded bios also requires a bit of extra work involve as well.

I only see the mod BIOS can support up to 8700k... Does anyone see the post saying that the mod BIOS can support 9900k?

This is the APEX model.

This model primary focus is on EXTREME bench-marking. Your disappointment is the same as going up to a McLaren P1 and being disappointed that it only comes with two seats.
