Once again (until 5/316/30) Kindle is offering non-subscribers two months of their Kindle unlimited for 99c instead of the usual rate. My previous two month trial had expired about a month ago and I was able to take advantage. Cancel at any time (and enjoy the remainder of your two month subscription) if you forget to cancel they will start automatically charging you the going rate at the end of your two months.

A really good reason to use Kindle Unlimited instead of Libby (Overdrive) is that KU allows access to Audible discounts while the books are checked out. So you can pay only $1.99 for a substantial book and actually add it permanently to your Audible account, without even needing an active Audible subscription. (Most books are $7.95 or so when they allow this, which is just marginally better than most Audible prices aside from free trials. I rarely get those, but you know, sometimes if I expect it to be a good book in a genre I enjoy... Some are $12 and up, which I don't see any reason to consider a deal; I'm never paying full price for Audible.)

I agree for the most part but the kindle e-reader format and convenience is a little better. Worth 33 cents a month, not much more than that though.
I can send books from my library to my Kindle.

PS this stacks with the 3 month free deal they give you if you buy a new kindle. I bought the paperwhite for mother's day and signed up for the two months for 99 cents and then did the three months free via the email I got after registering the kindle.

Hey guys I have a question. I'm a first time kindle user and never had a membership. Once the trial is over do I get to keep the books i downloaded and get access to them anytime?

No, they get pulled and you have a note in its place that says, "Loan ended." And as you read books, you can return them and select new ones. The book cover stays on your shelf but you get an error if you try to open it.

I wonder if the promo, based on the expiration this month is the same one we used? Others were successful earlier in the month, but maybe they caught on to us like Audible.

I tried it again just now and it worked, so I guess there's some kind of timer between when the previous one ends and it'll let you do a new one.

So I got the page offering the 2 months for $0.99 then clicked to buy and it charged me $19.98

I feel like typically there is another screen in between or it should have told me I wasn't eligible, now I've gotta contact amazon support.

Normally, it does say you are not eligible. Sounds like a glitch.
