No, this won't work well for 4k as it's U1 where you need the faster write speeds of a U3 or UHS Speed Class 3, with which the write speed won't drop below 30MB/s.

This U1 card won't drop below 10MB/s, but that's not fast enough to avoid dropped frames and other issues caused by the card's inability to write at a sufficiently high speed for the amount of image info coming in.

This SanDisk page has good information on all this:

400gb microsd cards have been out for over 2 years?
since 2017:

https://www.techrepublic.com/arti...d-tablets/

they've just been extremely expensive but now you can even get 512gb for $100 regular price on amazon.

curse my mi mix 2 with no microsd slot.

Price history is irrelevant considering that by summer many goods from China will see a 25% price spike including electronics
Sorry, why will there be a price spike?

It's because marketing can't do complicated math, so they round it off and screw the consumer. No one other than professionals understands the different short names, so they get away with confusing the consumer for a while.

Really annoying.
Marking always choose the largest measurement system to make the product appears larger than usable capacity.

Over 15 years ago, hard drive manufacturers got sued for usingMad same trick. After hard drive manufacturers got sued, they started putting largernod capacity hard drive than advertised number for about 1 year and back to same old tricks again. Consumers have short team memory.

As storage media keeps getting larger capacity, marketing must use the same lies. Who is going to sue storage manufacturers again like over 15 years ago?

I mean, that's true of any card. Unless Sandisk hires the Roadrunner who can break the laws of physics, every 400GB card from every manufacturer on Earth will have the same behavior. And this is true for all storage media, not just memory cards.
Not necessarily true. You can have a 400 GB card that is truely 400 GBs if manaufacturers weren't always looking for ways to save money. Also not physics but mathematics base 10 vs base 2

I'm shocked that people still don't understand the difference between base 2 and 10. I've mentioned this 1k times ( Wink ) but it doesn't sink in......

I'm curious - why so many down votes? It could be a possibility if trade deal with China doesn't go through. Tariffs on this segment will trigger higher price, though it may not make a much difference, but it is a valid point. I am assuming that's the basis for this comment.

It could take a 1TB micro SD card if such were available, but it'll definitely take a 400GB or 512GB, but if you already have the 512GB version, why slow it down with a card?

No. The only one talking politics is gbxx.
There won't be a 25% price spike because the issue is with the ChiComs, not Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, or Japan.
FYI, gbxx, all Asians do not look alike.

It should.
Phones typically only do 30fps or less, so unlike GoPro's or 4k camcorders or DSLRs, I bet the phone recording will be fine. The only way to know is if you get dropped frames. However, 30fps is a little choppy, so would you really know?
